The Italian American Charity Association Golf Association (IACAGA) is well known for both pride in their Italian heritage, their enthusiasm for golf and to the community. All attributes combine for the benefit of local cancer care during area golf tournaments. While golf is the most familiar activity associated with the IACAGA and has been for 52 years, the organization is ready to rock—in multiple senses of the term—on April 27, 2024 at Jamestown’s Reg Lenna Center for the Arts (116 East 3rd St, Jamestown).
Joe Paterniti, IACAGA chair, said that while the golf tournaments were popular ways to raise funds, the association was seeking additional event opportunities to serve the community. He was particularly impressed by a Femmes of Rock performance during their stop in North Tonawanda. From there, it was determined that the act would be part of the inaugural IACAGA concert benefit.
Femmes of Rock combines classic rock songs with string instruments. The four women fronting the band bring new life to songs by legends like The Beatles, David Bowie, Metallica, and Prince from the perspective of violins. They have performed on America’s Got Talent and shared stages with eclectic performers including Beyonce, Andrea Bocelli, Cheap Trick, and Pitbull. A Femmes of Rock show is known for its energy, precision, and one-of-a-kind audience experience.
This will be the first time Femmes of Rock graces the stage of Reg Lenna. The venue has hosted local, national, and international acts continuously since 1981. The theater was previously known as the Palace Civic Center and became the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts as of 1990. Historic performances have taken place over the decades, and the upcoming Femmes of Rock appearance promises yet another highlight of Jamestown arts.
Such a strong talent and performance space promise to be a great kickoff to a first of its kind experience for the IACAGA.
