You are invited to join the Village of Lakewood for their Fall Fest this Saturday October 3, from 10am-4pm. The festival will be held on Chautauqua Avenue in Lakewood. Parking is available at the Town of Busti Office Building parking lot as well as in designated spaces along the streets. Be ready for a delightful day of fall fun, featuring vendors, live music, and numerous activities for children.

To ensure a safe environment for families, some sections of the northern part of Chautauqua Avenue will be closed to traffic. Over fifty-five vendors will line the streets, offering a wide variety of crafts and specialty items. You can expect to find artwork, candles, jewelry, blankets, quilts, woodworking, books, home décor, clothing, accessories, seasonal items, and much more.

Along with the vendors, there will be several food trucks available for dining options for you and your group. Some of the food trucks serving the festival include Mystic Smoke BBQ, The Taco Hut, and Tomasina Pizza. For those with a sweet tooth, there will be Korn King Kettle Corn and Cups and Cones, as well as an assortment of locally made homemade pies and baked goods.

If you’re looking for a sit-down meal, the village has some excellent options as well. For breakfast, Ryders Cup will open at 7am and offers coffee along with a wide variety of hot and cold beverages. They also serve breakfast sandwiches and homemade scones and muffins.

For lunch and dinner, you can visit Group Ther-Happy, which provides plenty of seating both indoors and outside, weather permitting. Their menu includes salads, sandwiches, pizzas, wings, and delicious appetizers like their huge pretzel, so there’s certainly something to satisfy your cravings.

Colquhoun’s Ice Cream and Sub Shop is another great spot for lunch and dinner. At Colquhoun’s, you can enjoy delicious made-to-order hot and cold subs, along with a selection of beverages and snacks. Don’t forget to try their homemade ice cream, featuring unique and original flavors.

A big part of the Fall Festival is to encourage people from the community and surrounding areas to visit the village and shop. Local stores such as Pea Pod and Juniper, Cotton Thistle Boutique, Good Neighbor Bookstore, The Watch Shop, Bag and String Wine Merchants, and Vitality Natural Health and Wellness will all be open. Whether you choose to shop with the vendors or at the local merchants, you’re sure to find something nice for yourself and you may even start your Christmas shopping for those on your list.

One of the highlights of this festival is the amazing array of activities for children. Across the street from Group Ther-Happy, there will be a Kid’s Zone. The Kid’s Zone will feature several free activities, including face painting and pumpkin painting. Be sure to look for the big yellow tent nearby, where children’s book author Deejay McKay will be signing her books and giving away free books to the first 25 children.

Another exciting activity for kids is to visit the free petting zoo located in the grassy area behind the Lakewood Library from 10am-2pm. Just a few blocks from the library, the fire department will be hosting an open house from 12pm-4pm where you and your family can check out the fire trucks and chat with some of the firefighters.

Live music is always a highlight at this type of festival. Throughout most of the event, there will be live music performances. Down by Ryder’s Cup, Jacob Blair will be performing from 11:30am-2:30pm.  Group Ther-Happy will provide music from 2-4pm. Polliwood Nights will entertain the crowd later that evening, performing from 8-11pm.

This amazing fall fest is being put on by the Village of Lakewood. A special thanks goes to The Village of Lakewood and all the sponsors who generously donate and support this event, making it possible for the festival to continue.

On October 3rd, join the beautiful lakeside community for a day of fall fun at the Lakewood Fall Fest celebration. You will have the opportunity to browse and shop from local merchants and over fifty five vendors, enjoy great live music, and participate in plenty of activities for you and your kids to enjoy on this beautiful fall day.
