Live music will fill the streets and local businesses of Allegany when BonaGany presents its annual music event during Saint Bonaventure’s Family Weekend this Saturday, September 26. The Allegany Music Festival returns for an evening full of fun and live performances featuring talented musicians and a variety of musical styles.
The festival is free and open to the public, giving residents, visitors, and families an opportunity to enjoy live music while visiting several bars and restaurants throughout the village. The event also offers visitors a chance to experience Allegany’s welcoming community and get to know the local businesses and people who make the village special.
The festival will kick off with its outdoor portion from 7-10pm at the Town Park on Main and Fourth streets. Sticktights will take the stage, bringing a mix of rock, folk, punk, and everything in between to the outdoor celebration. The Sticktights will move indoors to Hickey Tavern, if weather conditions are poor.
Additional performances by talented musicians will take place at several bars and restaurants throughout Allegany.
Later in the evening, Brian Ash & Pete Gilroy will take the stage from 10:30pm-1:30am, performing classic rock favorites. The acoustic guitar and drums duo may perform earlier in the evening if Sticktights remains outside, giving festivalgoers even more live music to enjoy.
At Burton, Two Guys Drinking Beer will bring their unplugged country rock sound to the evening from 7:30-10:30pm.
At Hometown, Jason Wedlock will perform acoustic rock from 8-11pm, adding another live performance to the festival’s lineup.
At Fusion, Jeff Stromberg will perform acoustic rock from 9pm-midnight, keeping the music going throughout the evening.
The evening will continue at Other Place, where a DJ will perform from 10:30pm-2am, featuring a wide selection of music and giving festivalgoers another way to enjoy the night.
With multiple performers and venues participating, the Allegany music festival offers attendees the opportunity to move throughout the community and experience a vast variety of live music styles in one night.
The festival is free to attend, the Village will be suspending its open container policy during the event between Burton and Fusion, attendees’ beverages must be transported in plastic cups. The community, public, students and families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the evening.
