The Mazza name and business is well-known in this area, and they have a rich family history. In 1972, brothers Robert and Frank Mazza, of Italian heritage, operated a single vineyard and opened Mazza Vineyards in North East, Pennsylvania, near the New York-Pennsylvania state line. This winery was one of the first to open in Pennsylvania after the passage of the PA Limited Winery Act. The winery features a Mediterranean-style tasting room that honors the Mazza family’s Italian heritage. Mazza Vineyards has established itself as a leader in winemaking in the Lake Erie Wine Region, producing a variety of wines, including several award-winning selections like the Perfect Rosé and their Dry Reisling.
The Mazza family decided to expand their business across the state border into New York to establish a location in the New York as part of its wine region. In 2005, Mazza Chautauqua Cellars opened in Mayville, and the winery thrived for several years. However, the family later decided to relocate it to Westfield. They believed that a Westfield location, between Route 5 and Route 20, would be more advantageous, as it is closer to the Route 20 corridor on the Wine Trail. In 2013, they moved Mazza Chautauqua Cellars to Westfield.

Around this time, they decided to start producing craft beer and expanded their distilling operations to include aged spirits, leading to the opening of Five & 20. This establishment specializes in brewing and distilling, using locally sourced ingredients. Named after its location, Five & 20 is housed in the same building as Chautauqua Cellars, located at 8398 West Main Street in Westfield. This combined facility was the first in New York to operate as a winery, brewery, and distillery all under one roof.
The Mazza Chautauqua Cellars/Five & 20 building offers a casual, relaxing atmosphere that includes first-come, first-served indoor seating, as well as outdoor seating when weather permits. It features a three-season pavilion with heaters and a fire pit for colder months, along with a large patio with picnic tables. The products from both facilities are available throughout the venue, including wines, beer, and whiskeys, including bourbon. Together, they share a tasting room where you can enjoy flights of all three types of products. You can also purchase bottles of any of their products, all in one convenient location.

This location makes a fantastic destination for wine trail visits and is often a part of bachelorette parties. For tastings, this location is currently set up to accommodate a maximum of ten people. If you have a group larger than ten, please call ahead of time to make arrangements.
Additionally, Five and 20 hosts Happy Hours (formerly Customer Appreciation Nights) every Friday year-round. From January to early spring these events are from 4pm to 6pm. At the beginning of April, the hours shifted to 5pm to 8pm. During these events, guests can enjoy a selection of specially priced cocktails as well as $2 off draft beers and $2 off select wines by the glass. Seasonally they have live music for guests to enjoy that has resumed this month, and there will be food trucks there during the warmer months.
All the Mazza locations are year around, 7 days a week (except for major holidays) with hours varying depending on the season. You can find out additional information about all the Mazza locations, hours of operation, lists of products, and special events that are taking place by visiting enjoymazza.com.
