The Ratchet Hatchet officially opened in it’s new location at 5 East Washington Street, Suite 6, this past October. The new space allows for a much larger ax throwing space that is separated from their bar and restaurant by a brick wall, allowing a quieter dining experience. Their new menu offers upscale fresh modern dishes along with seasonally rotating cocktails. The new location also features an outdoor patio, live music and parking.

Nathan Woodruff has owned with The Ratchet Hatchet since its inception 5 years ago. They are excited to be in this new space, and finally relax into what they’ve imagined The Ratchet Hatchet could become. “We had a vision from the start and it’s been great to watch it come to fruition. Our old location was great at the time, but the new space allows us to accommodate more parties and events on the ax throwing side, while still offering a more private bar and restaurant experience.”

Along with the new location, came a more refined menu. You can still find your staple favorites but they have now also incorporated seasonally rotating specialties including craft cocktails. They now also offer an entire ‘side’ dedicated to ax throwing with more space to accommodate a larger amount of guests. They offer drop in or ax throwing by appointment for individuals, couple and/or group reservations starting at $25/person for ½ hour. Event packages are available with discounts for food and drink packages. The event space also includes a private attached lounge

Along with the new location, came a more refined menu. “We still offer our staple flatbread pizzas and a good selection of our favorite items, but we have a few specialized items that rotate seasonally,” says Nathan. They now offer a Sunday Brunch from 10-2 featuring a la carte items including waffles topped with maple bourbon whipped cream and cinnamon French toast served with a vanilla cinnamon sugar paste. Other menu items include a breakfast flatbread, multiple breakfast sandwich options, and a breakfast burrito. And of course, coffee. The menu currently features a French press coffee, hot or iced lattes , as well as specialty infused coffee beverages for a more spirited brunch. Additionally, both traditional and specialty crafted cocktails are offered.

The cocktail menu is impressive, with seasonally rotating specialties. Winter drinks include the popular slopeside martini (peppermint vodka shaken with chocolate and cream) and orange cranberry mule (citrus vodka with cranberry, fresh lime and ginger beer). Their smoked cocktails bring the heat; each of these 3 different smoked drinks are infused with a different woodchip from their smokers. “All three of our smoked cocktails are made at the bar, lit and smoked to infused the drink. The smoked quality lasts from first sip to last. It’s truly an experience,” says Nathan.

The Ratchet Hatchet features live music spotlighting local musicians both indoors and outdoors on the patio (weather permitting.) Upcoming artists include Cody Klink and Steven Padin, with full event schedule online.

The Ratchet Hatchet now features an entire ‘side’ dedicated to ax throwing with more space to accommodate a larger amount of guests. “We still offer the same, quality experience, but can easily accommodate at least 50 people.” They offer drop in or ax throwing by appointment for individuals, couple and/or group reservations starting at $25/person for ½ hour. Event packages are available with discounts for food and drink packages. The event space also includes a private attached lounge, personally decorated by Nathan with old record albums and other unique décor.
