Just because the snow is falling doesn’t mean the golfing season is over. Take your golfing skills indoors at Ellicottville Indoor Golf. Jake Northrup opened this indoor golf studio in 2015 and has everything for beginner and experienced golfers alike.
Jake Northrup had the vision of creating a space for the golfers to practice and grow year-round. “I wanted to give myself and my local Ellicottville golfing community a place and an experience of the best indoor golf facilities available while offering a place for my coaching and students to learn during all the seasons.”
Think of it as a golfing speakeasy with no signage and no hours. It is completely private. “It becomes whatever a member wants for themselves. This is your own private space to spend quality time on a game that demands it. If you’re there, it’s closed to everyone else. Golf has always been the classy way to avoid responsibility, now it’s more secluded too.” It offers guests the option to play and practice without paying hourly, bring their friends and their own refreshments.
As a PGA Professional for the past 20 years, he has a wealth of experience in the golfing world. Jake is also a Real Estate agent for Holiday Valley Realty and a born resident of Ellicottville, making this four-seasons resort town the ideal location for his golfer’s retreat. He is currently elected as Western New York PGA Section President. Jake is grateful to be raising his young family with his wife Jen in the town he grew up in. “Ellicottville is near and dear to my heart. We have so many relatives and close friends here. My family means everything to me.”
Ellicottville Indoor Golf is a 36’ x 38’ fully turfed studio with 14’ ceilings offering 20’ x 15’ putting green and Trackman hitting bay. The facility caters to a limited group of members who have 24-hour access with keyless IOS fingerprint lock. Once guests become members, they gain access to a variety of resources including PGA Coaching and instruction with Trackman as well as video analysis of their game. Members are also granted access to the Trackman App where they are able to track all game data including handicaps, tournaments and averages.
Not only is the facility top notch in its space and exclusivity, but the technology behind Trackman is hard to beat. “This is the same technology used by PGA Tour to show the viewing public a glimpse into the numbers behind the game when watching on TV. Members learn quickly where they stand and can make real progress.” Jake splurged on the technology as he found it far superior and you won’t find it anywhere else. Members also find it very user friendly, and appreciate the ease of online booking.
Indoor golf provides the flexibility and convenience to play or practice on your own schedule. Play what you want, when you want, with who you want. “Trackman technology offers members and guests the ability to have the experience of over 200 world class golf courses, without ever leaving town.” Members can book directly online for as much time as they want up to 30 days in advance. For a limited time, EVL Indoor Golf is offering 1-month and 3-month memberships for winter season.
Jake feels fortunate to be able to bring the game he loves to more people. “It’s a great opportunity to share my love of golf with others, and help them grow and make advancements in their own game. It’s great to be able to see measurable advances in abilities and understandings of your own game. And it’s pretty fun too.”
