East Otto NY
Have you ever wondered what happens when you give a group of creative people just one day to write, direct, rehearse, and create original theatre?
Come find out at Guerrilla Theatre Project’s next Play in a Day event beginning on Friday, July 31st, with a performance at Griffis Sculpture Park on Saturday, August 1st at 7pm.
Griffis Sculpture Park (6902 Mill Valley Road, East Otto) provides the inspiration as actors, writers, and directors work together to create brand-new short plays based on the park’s incredible sculptures, landscapes, and hidden stories. The challenge? They have just one day to bring these ideas to life before performing them for a live audience the very next day!
Whether you’re a seasoned theatre artist or someone looking to try something new, this is one of the most exciting and unique events of our season. Creativity, collaboration, improvisation, problem-solving, and a little bit of chaos all come together to create a theatrical experience unlike anything else.
Interested actors who want to participate are asked to come to Griffis Sculpture Park (6902 Mill Valley Rd, East Otto) Friday, July 31st at 7pm. Bring a prop and tell us a 1-minute story about it. Casting will take place right after auditions.
The event will culminate with the performances making their debut at 7pm on Saturday, August 1. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. There is walking involved, as the plays take place at various locations in the park.
This event always produces surprising, hilarious, heartfelt, and unforgettable moments. You never know what stories will emerge from the sculptures, and that’s part of the magic.
Join us this summer as creativity takes center stage and watch brand-new theatre come to life in one of Western New York’s most inspiring settings.
