The Eddie Szpaicher Invitational, now in its 15th year, raises funds to support local students who demonstrate excellence and civic mindedness. Organizers noted that awarding scholarships to students who bridge athletic achievement and community service continues Eddie Szpaicher’s legacy of sportsmanship and kindness. This year’s tournament will be held on July 8th, 2026 at Holiday Valley’s Double Black Diamond golf course,
The family presented scholarship awards to two outstanding student-athletes whose commitment to academics, athletics and community service embody Eddie’s motto, “It’s nice to be nice.”

Bianca Bush, an incoming freshman at Duquesne University, and Jackson Kruszynski, headed to D’Youville College this fall, were honored with this year’s scholarship of $2500 each. Both students were selected for their scholastic achievement, leadership on and off the athletic fields, and meaningful community involvement.
“Bianca and Jackson represent everything this scholarship is meant to support,” said Rebecca Szpaicher. “They’re excellent students, fierce competitors, and most importantly, they give back to their communities. We’re proud to help them as they take the next step in their education.”
The tournament committee encouraged local families and supporters to continue participating in future events to sustain scholarship opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
