This summer there are some exciting things happening at Sunset Bay Beach in Irving. Kelly Borrello and her husband, NY State Senator George Borrello, have owned Sunset Bay Beach Club along with Cabana Sam’s for the past eight seasons. The beachfront property lies on the shores of Lake Erie that includes acres of groomed beach featuring lifeguard stations and sand volleyball courts. Both venues have plenty of room to host many exciting events during the summer season.
Cabana Sam’s is a full-service waterfront restaurant featuring two full-service bars that offer happy hour and drink specials every day. The restaurant boasts a large, diverse menu with various daily specials. While you enjoy your meal, you can listen to live music from bands performing this summer on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, starting at either 6 or 7pm.

Right next door is Sunset Bay Beach Club, which is one of the few lakefront bar/nightclubs in the area. The club features a large outdoor bar and patio where guests can drink, dance, and mingle under the stars on warm summer nights. Additionally, there is an indoor bar and dance floor that hosts live music on most Friday and Saturday nights, usually featuring live bands that start around 8 or 8:30pm.
Along with weekly bands, Sunset Bay Beach Club often hosts special events. In June, there are three special events taking place. On Friday, June 20th, the Sunset Bay Beach Club is throwing a Summer Solstice Party, hosted by 97 Rock from 8-11pm. Furious George will perform classic rock music and other upbeat party tunes that are sure to get you moving to the beat. Enjoy drink specials, prizes, and giveaways. Bring your friends and join the Beach Club in celebrating the longest day of the year!
Then on Saturday June 21st, the Beach Club will be rocking the shores of Lake Erie with their Rock Fest, which is an all-day event starting at 1pm. Join them for an exciting day filled with talented tribute bands performing music from beloved classic rock bands. The Hollywood Vampires will kick off the Rock Fest from 1-2:30pm. Then Reset to Vinyl (Journey) will be from 3-4pm, followed Secondhand News (Fleetwood Mac) from 4:30-5:45pm. From 6-7:15pm, Rock and Roll Fantasy (Bad Company) will take the stage, followed by Ride the Wind (Poison) from 7:45-9:15pm. To close out the evening, America Bad Ass (Kid Rock) will get the place rocking from 9:45-11pm.
The Country Jamboree, which is a celebration of country music, is another all-day event on June 28th. It will feature local country bands and fantastic tribute bands celebrating renowned country artists. The live music will start with local artists, Kevin Mikula, who will start the day off performing from 1-2:15pm. Next, Dark Horse Run will take the stage from 2:30-4pm, followed by Wasted Whiskey that will get you moving to the beat from 4:30-6pm. The local artists conclude with Everette Lee from 6:30-7:45pm. Then, starting at 8pm, there will be several tribute bands performing tributes to Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, and Tim McGraw. So, dust off your cowboy boots, put on your best country outfit, and join Sunset Bay Beach Club for a foot-stomping good time!
The Rock Fest and the Country Jamboree, have tribute bands delivering such impressive performances that you almost think they’re the original artists. June is an exciting month full of entertainment at Sunset Bay Beach, with a lot more to come later this summer. In July, there will be an Independence Day celebration and later in the month there will be a Christmas in July party on July 26th. Both the Beach Club and Cabana Sam’s will continue with their weekly live band schedule.
