Bemus Point welcomes a new tapas restaurant, cocktail lounge and wine bar combined into one spot for a unique dining experience. Splash has brought a fresh and sophisticated vibe to this lakeside community.
Situated in the heart of Bemus Point, Splash invites patrons to indulge in a captivating dining experience that combines delectable cuisine with an extensive selection of fine wines and handcrafted cocktails.
The owners, Susan and Shawn Weatherup opened Splash with the intention of creating a space for people to simply enjoy the moment and experience something different in Bemus.
“I would say the vibe is just enjoyment with friends, family where you can sit on the patio or inside and relax. When your sitting on the patio by the lake, you can enjoy the weather while sipping on fine cocktails, wine, and small plates,” Shawn Weatherup.
The couple has traveled all around expanding their book of inspiration along the way.
“We started thinking, what would we like to enjoy in our community? That’s kind of how we came up with Splash. We’ve just taken all of our experiences, from where we have lived in Tampa, Arizona and other travels and what

we love about them and brought that to Bemus Point. We want people to enjoy and have the same experiences that we have had,” Susan Weatherup.
The menu at Splash features small plates, tapas, to enjoy alongside a specialty glass of wine from one of the 8 countries they offer. Their wine director, Milton “Skip” Svetanics, has guided the Weatherups selecting some of the best wines available around the world. If you’re unfamiliar with wines, Skip is there to recommend one that suits your palate.
Their handcrafted cocktails take a creative spin on some classic all-time favorites. Their Coconut Margarita, New York, New York (spin on a manhattan), and Wake Up Little Susie (spin on an espresso martini) are some unforgettable ones, along with Susan Weatherup’s favorite, the Impanema named after the famous jazz song.
“Our theme is kind of a jazz bar theme and we’re having jazz bands play and cocktail pianists come in. We have some entertainers that will be singing Frank Sinatra standards, Cole Porter, and things like that. That’s kind of our thing,” Shawn Weatherup.
“I would say if I had to describe our theme is “Old Hollywood Lounge,” Susan Weatherup.
One of the highlights of Splash is its exceptional view of Chautauqua Lake. Enjoy the beautiful views of boats zipping around the lake and the famous double sunset that paints the sky mirrored by the water.
