Solomon’s Hidden Treasures, a unique non-profit Thrift Store in Springville, offers a combination of new, used and antique items. It is run by volunteers supervised by Pastor Gail McCrory, the founder of Solomon’s Porch Ministries, a Non-Denominational Church in Mansfield, NY. Her daughter Hannah also helps run the store. “I love seeing our regular customers”, said the Pastor. “We truly have become a family around here”. Her daughter added, “My favorite thing about working here is when our customers send us, or show us, photos of how they have upcycled something they purchased here. Their creativity is amazing!” One customer used teapots they purchased from “Treasures” to create table centerpieces for events and fundraisers held for women who need financial help during their treatment for breast cancer.

Solomon’s Hidden Treasures offers not only a place to shop, but a place for prayer and counseling. Its items range from clothing and crafts, to household goods and furniture. In the “New Outlet” area, all the items are indeed new and yet are generally priced up to 75% off retail. The proceeds from the store’s sales (after the overhead is paid) have gone to help many people and causes, including: domestic violence survivors, fire survivors, hurricane & tornado relief, and Ukraine refugees. Money has also been used for: job training, to provide clothing and household goods for veterans, local ShoeBox Ministries, temporary shelter for the needy, local Ministry Outreaches, and many more helpful things! “Treasures” is always looking for more volunteers to help organize the shelves, price items, or tag the clothing. Volunteers not only get the opportunity to give back to the community or get community service hours, but also to earn a five-dollar store credit for every hour they work. All the volunteers are very much appreciated.
Each week there are various sales for different departments throughout the store, including fill-a-bag clothing sales or one-dollar Clothing Racks. This week’s sales will include:10% off all new outlet items, 50% off all shoes and boots, 25% off all-new outlet clothing, and a Buy One Get One Free sale for all media (CDs/Records/DVDs/VHS items). All thrift books will be one dollar, and thrift board games, thrift wallets and purses will all be fifty percent off. All thrift clothing under five dollars will be only one dollar. (Some exclusions apply).
