Near the shores of Chautauqua Lake, you will find a small business plaza called CHQ Marketplace. It is located on Rt. 394 in North Harmony between Stow and Chautauqua Institution, and it is unlike any other marketplace in this area. The CHQ Marketplace is a relatively new destination that features exquisite and diverssse dining and shopping, and other small businesses. Read on to see what CHQ Marketplace has to offer.

Morgan and Mathew Dinger bought the buildings and opened a restaurant called Truffle Honey in May of 2023. The restaurant accommodates about 70 people inside and about 20 people on the outdoor patios. It has a relaxing and welcoming vibe, with a fine dining yet casual atmosphere, and their menu reflects this as well. The menu consists of items such as salads, burgers, and pizza, but also has top of the line wood-fired wagyu steaks and other entrees. Morgan stated that the restaurant’s name is a combination of the truffle, which are European mushrooms, and the local Panama bee honey. These are ingredients used in making some of their pizzas, keeping with the elegant dining but casual local theme. At times, they have special theme nights such as sushi night, winemaker’s dinner, noodle nights, lobster boils, and more.

The Filling Station

Morgan and Mathew recently opened an additional part of their business called the Filling Station, which is located up the hill behind the CHQ Marketplace. The Filling Station is an outdoor venue, that has a food truck type vehicle that houses eight beer taps, fine wines, premixed cocktails, seltzers, and ciders. The Filling Station accommodates up to 100 people at picnic tables. You can hang out while waiting for a table at Truffle Honey, or you can buy pizza and snacks to have with your beverages.

For entertainment, they sometimes have live music. You can also enjoy outdoor games like cornhole Jenga, and ladder ball. At times they hold special events and fundraisers. They’ve had a few fashion shows in the past that raise funds for local charities, and it’s their way of giving back to the community that supports them. Morgan said, “We have met a lot of people, and we are thrilled to be a part of this community. We are happy and thankful for all the support we have gotten from everyone here.”

The Filling Station area also has a large screen tv, and they are planning on having Bills tailgate parties for the Bill’s games and will be open until 8pm on Sundays. They will also show other games on Sundays when the Bills aren’t playing. It sounds like a great time for all you NFL football enthusiasts, right?

The Dingers also have a cozy year-round Airbnb that is available to rent on site. The accommodation is a studio suite, and it can sleep four people comfortably. It also includes a kitchenette. It is a perfect location for those attending events at Chautauqua Institution or visiting

Besides the businesses that Morgan and Mathew own, there are other business included in the CHQ Marketplace.

Art, Cloth, and Craft

Art Cloth and Craft

Art, Cloth, and Craft is a boutique shop owned by two local sisters Bobbi Spare and Lauren Edwards. They own and operate a location in downtown Jamestown and expanded their business here at CHQ Marketplace in 2023. Both of their shops specialize in a variety of boutique clothing, handcrafted goods, as well as items supporting local artists, authors, and other small local companies. They have a nice selection of giftable items such as jewelry, books, home décor, candles, purses, and accessories. It has a relaxed vibe, and you may lose track of time browsing through this classy boutique.

Joe and Provisions

Joe and Provisions is another business you will find at the CHQ Marketplace. It’s a coffee shop that specializes in a variety of espresso drinks. They have lattes, cappuccino, and cold and hot coffees. You will find that it is also more than just a coffee shop. It features food, sodas and snacks, and other selected goods. It includes items from local businesses and books from local authors. It has quite an eclectic inventory of items, and it’s a must see when you are at the CHQ Marketplace.

Brigiotta’s Seasonal Pop-Up

Seasonally Brigiotta’s, a long-standing Jamestown market, has a pop-up store at the marketplace from spring until the end of October. Brigiotta’s specializes in produce, and you will find a lot of seasonal items there to purchase. During the summer you would find a variety of berries and other summer produce. As fall approaches you will find pumpkins, corn, apples, grapes, and fall decor there. It is smaller than their Jamestown market, but it gives a nice sampling of what Brigiotta’s has to offer.

You can see that the CHQ Marketplace is a unique destination where you can find dining, shopping, and entertainment. You can find more information and updates of their menu specials and events on their Instagram and Facebook pages and at https://www.chqmktpl.com.
