“Young is a mindset” is the motto for the Jamestown Young Professionals group. An amazing group that started over 10 years ago began to fizzle away during the rough times that we all faced during COVID. Understanding the importance of their mission, members were determined to bring it back to the community and the group began a new life under the umbrella of the United Way.
Founded on the principle that too many people think that they are “not professional enough” to join such a group or that they do not fall into the appropriate age category, the Jamestown Young Professionals group is open to everyone. They welcome people of all ages interested in both networking as well as increasing personal and professional connections for the betterment of Chautauqua County.
The group is currently focused on three main events. The first being a monthly morning gathering. The “JYP Morning Buzz At Crown” events will be held from 7:30am to 9:30am on the Third Thursday of each month at the Crown Street Roasting Company’s West 3rd Street location. The second is periodic happy hour events that will be taking place at various locations allowing for people to meet who cannot attend the early morning time. And last is a once a year larger event geared towards the winter season which may be a dance or a dinner.
Membership is not required and the Jamestown Young Professionals group is looking for more people to join them to bring diverse thoughts and backgrounds to the group.
