CCIDA Assists in Capital Improvements

    This past Tuesday, May 20, HoliMont was approved for New York State tax abatement with assistance from the Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) on over one million dollars in projects. These projects include purchasing equipment, improving snowmaking and general resort improvements.

      Corey Wiktor, Executive Director for the CCIDA, is excited about these improvements, as they prove HoliMont’s continued investment in the economy of the area. “HoliMont is a great attractor of tourism to the area,” says Corey. “We are thrilled to work with them and help them with funding on projects that will make the user experience at this resort the best it can be.”

     Projects include purchasing a new PistenBully Groomer to maintain trails and slopes, improving snowmaking, replacing waterlines as well as general resort maintenance. “These improvements are necessary in helping HoliMont continue their top-notch programs and optimize the ski season,” says Wiktor. “These are significant investments into the resort, which in turn in as investment in the economy of our area.”

     HoliMont is coming off a great 2024-2025 ski season, and these investments hope to help make the next season even better. “The resort is always looking to best maintain and optimize the conditions in order to maximize the winter months, no matter the weather,” says Corey.

      These projects will begin within the next few weeks and are anticipated to be completed for the 2025-2026 ski season.

     The CCIDA is a public benefit corporation helps organizations reduce their development costs by receiving tax breaks and other forms of government funding for the applied for projects. Created in 1971, the agency helps organizations take advantage of Industrial Revenue Bonding to obtain low-cost financing on eligible projects.
