Garden in Memory of Matt Isaacson
Pick a Bouquet for Charity in Bemus Point, NY

Spread the love

By Kate Bartlett

If you’re in Bemus Point, be sure to stop over and hand pick your own bouquet of fresh cut flowers on the corner of Marshall Ave and N. Oriental Ave. Owners Chrisi and Mike Turecki humbly acquired the field after the previous homeowner, Matt Isaacson, passed away last fall. A beloved 6th grade teacher for 33 years in Bemus Point, Mr. Isaacson was an avid gardener and planted this flower field for many years. Neighbors and friends looked forward to the garden, and a fresh cut bouquet of flowers to brighten their home and their day. The Tureckis decided to keep this tradition going, and the garden is in full bloom. “We never fancied ourselves as gardeners, but we wanted to help keep his memory alive. With the help of family, we’ve enjoyed doing it, and learned a lot along the way.” What’s more, proceeds will be donated to the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department, with a suggested donation of $6/bouquet. Stop down anytime, the zinnia field is in full bloom through the first frost.
