Artfully Handcrafted Sweet Treats

Spread the love

By Kate Schultz-

Sweet treats are one of the holiday season’s undeniable pleasures. If you’ve got a craving but don’t have time to bake, consider Cupcaked, located in Ellicottville, NY. Annie Coe, whose love for baking began during childhood, started her business in 2016, making cupcakes and sweets in her apartment and selling them online and at local farmer’s markets. In 2017, Coe moved into the space on 22 Monroe Street.

Annie Coe’s business has grown since 2016 when she was
making cupcakes in her basement. By 2017 she secured a cozy
storefront at 22 Monroe Street in Ellicottville and this December,
Cupcaked will be moving into the 3-fl oor former Public House
location at 24 Monroe Street.

Cupcaked’s current storefront is a cozy space decorated in white and various shades of pink. 3-dimensional floral designs, made to look like flowers created from frosting, adorn the walls, and now that the holiday season is upon us, the shop is also decked out with pink bottle-brush Christmas trees and glittery ornaments. The display case is a feast for the eyes, with not only multiple cupcake flavors, but also cookies, cake pops, and various types of decadent pastries. Try the white chocolate peppermint cupcake for a holiday favorite. A top year-round seller is the chocolate peanut butter cupcake, and salty caramel is another popular flavor. Gluten-free options include macarons, brownies, and truffles. Cupcaked also carries greeting cards, birthday cake (or cupcake!) candles, and other cake toppers, for decorating your desserts.

Cupcaked takes special orders as well as walk-in purchases. Coe has been wanting to offer in-shop events for a while, but the size of the current space made this difficult. However, this December, Cupcaked will be moving into the 3-floor former Public House location at 24 Monroe Street. Coe is excited to begin offering decorating classes and on-site tastings and parties soon. She’s also planning to have café seating on one of the floors, which will make a great place to relax and enjoy coffee and desserts. The grand opening of Cupcaked’s new location is slated for Tuesday, December 20th.

For the digital shopper, Cupcaked’s Etsy shop (CupcakedBakeryInc) ships directly to shoppers or gift recipients. The Etsy store offers a limited selection including cookies, hot chocolate bombs, and gift box assortments. There’s even a monthly dessert box subscription program, which can be purchased on the website. You can sign up for a 3, 6, or 12-month subscription, or purchase a one-time dessert box. Cupcaked’s website lists the items included in the current month’s box.

Visit Cupcaked 12-6pm Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; and 12-8pm Fridays and Saturdays, and check them out on Instagram (@cupcakedbakeryinc) and Facebook (Cupcaked Bakery Inc).
