She began her career with the Chamber in 2016, leaving her role in banking, seeking more involvement in the community. Barb has served in many roles throughout her years, starting as Office Coordinator, to Membership and Events Manager, working towards Project Development Manager and now Executive Assistant. “I’m fortunate to have worked with many amazing people in the community during my time with the Chamber. It’s very rewarding work. It may sound cliché, but I am truly lucky and blessed to do something I love.”

The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce works steadfast to ensure the growth of the town, its members, as well as the Ellicottville brand. “We’re always striving for growth and stability. We focus on what mem-bers need and build connections between members and the community.” The Chamber sponsors 18 events in Ellicottville, attracting visitors year-round and promoting local tourism.

Barb has watched the Chamber grow throughout her 6 ½ years there. “The Chamber has always been a strong asset for the community, but over the years it’s been great to watch the members become more involved. Local businesses have begun creating their own events, and are more invested in the overall growth of the community. Everyone here supports each other, and that’s great for the whole.”

Working with the Chamber has helped Barb see the big picture. “Our work through the Chamber is something that is long lasting. The growth of the community is something that will last for years to come.  I’m fortunate to watch my 10-year-old son, Grayde, grow up with this wonderful community.

Looking towards the future, Barb intends to ensure relationships between businesses continue to grow while continuing to foster a welcoming nature in the community. “We strive to continue to attract visitors to enjoy the charm of Ellicottville weekdays and weekends all year-round. It really is such a great town; we’re just secluded enough from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s close enough to many major cities, yet far enough away.”

Five years from now, Barb foresees a strong chamber committee with strong membership, working together and cooperating to help the community as a whole. “Ellicottville is an experience. It’s not like any-thing else; whether you’re just here to visit, or you live here, you can attest to our slogan: doesn’t this place feel great?”
