Ellicottville NY

Welcome to this weekend’s Winter Music Jam, a 3-day music-packed weekend. With 15+ performers on deck covering a variety of genres, it will prove to be a good challenge trying to check them all out. Whether you’re prowling for rock n’ roll, soulful blues, or a good country party, this weekend is sure to cater to all musical tastes. (See full schedule, page B-13.)

Next in line is Mardi Gras weekend, March 10-12 that invites both locals and visitors to put their creative minds to work in preparation for the biggest party of ski season. An event that encourages individuals and groups to choose their theme, plan their costumes, and parade through Ellicottville’s business district, while spectators line the streets, cheering for their favorites.

The Mardi Gras Parade is a family-friendly event coinciding with Holiday Valley’s Winter Carnival weekend. As a reminded, no alcohol is permitted in the parade. While candy and trinkets such as bead necklaces can be handed out to spectators, marchers are asked not to throw items into the crowd.

Plan ahead for the ever-popular Summer Music Festival during the 4th of July weekend. This year’s headline Saturday, July 1 is “The Players” featuring Grammy awarded & top former members of Chicago and Earth, Wind, & Fire. Enjoy a live performance with legendary members: Bill Champlin (Two-timed grammy winner; member of Chicago for 28 years) Keith Howland (Former guitarist of Chicago), Jeff Coffey (Former lead vocalist of Chicago), Gorden Campbell (Former drummer of Earth, Wind & Fire)) with an opening act of Barracuda, a Heart tribute band! Sunday, July 2 you can expect the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra followed by the annual fireworks display!

The festivals continue throughout the year: Jazz & Blues Weekend, July 29-30; Taste of Ellicottville, August 12-13; Rock N’ Roll Weekend, September 15-17; Ellicottville Lacrosse Festival, September 22-24; Fall Festival, October 7-8; EVL Halloween Half & 5K, October 21; Beer & Wine Festival, November 11; Christmas in Ellicottville, November 24-26; Christmas Stroll, December 9.
