Take some time for self-care this Valentine’s weekend for a day of yoga and relaxation at the Winery of Ellicottville next Saturday, February 17th. Deeply Rooted Yoga is hosting a pop-up retreat from 8:30-11:30am with a rejuvenating experience combining the serenity of yoga with the healing power of sound and reiki.

Founders Cora Utegg and Jen Seibert opened Deeply Rooted Wellness in Fredonia in 2021 with a vision to create an environment centered around healing, yoga, and inner wellness. They offer massage, Reiki, Vinyasa and Hatha yoga classes in their studio at 7 E. Main Street (Fredonia). “I’ve always sought to ground my clients and hope to help them connect with their inner peace,” says Cora. “We focus on wood and earth elements in our studio, providing an atmosphere of simplicity in nature.”

Cora Utegg, founder of Deeply Rooted Wellness, opened in 2021 with the vision to create a space that offers multiple healing modalities, yoga classes, and wellness events. A space with earthy vibes and wooden accents that invite you to ground down into the roots of the soul. “I wouldn’t have found this space if it hadn’t been for my aunt, Jen Seibert and RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Training), who was looking for a yoga space to teach, and saw a perfect opportunity for me to open my very own massage practice. I’m proud to say, it has now grown into a well-rounded wellness studio offering various yoga classes, inspiring workshops & events, and massage therapy. Our goal is for you to always leave feeling better than when you walked in, whether that be from receiving a massage, taking a yoga class, or attending our weekend events that range from Hip Hop & Hops or AcuYoga.”

Cora loves her job as a massage therapist and the wellness studio has grown to exceed her expectations. “I’m grateful and honored to have been so warmly welcomed by the community. We love what we do and we look forward to each and every session.”

“They say, ‘if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life’, and I believe it entirely.. I love providing a relaxing and rejuvenating service in a space that nurtures each and every soul that walks through the door. I am very blessed to work with a wonderful group of women, that all contribute greatly to creating high vibes and inspiring classes at Deeply Rooted Wellness. Being able to provide a space to teach what we love, makes it all the more wonderful.”

Jen’s family is connected to Ellicottville by family, and she saw the opportunity for a boutique yoga retreat in the area. “It is such a quaint town with very few yoga options. We would love to serve the Ellicottville community and are looking forward to this, and hopefully future retreats.”

During this revitalizing retreat, guests indulge in two one-hour yoga classes to center the body and mind accompanied by the soothing sounds of crystal bowls and other enchanting instruments creating the perfect harmonious atmosphere. Cora, a skilled Reiki Master, will also incorporate the gentle touch of reiki throughout the classes enhancing relaxation and promoting a deeper connection with inner healing.

Guests indulge in two one-hour yoga classes, one being a vinyasa flow, and the other a restorative focused class with an extended savasana, accompanied by a sound bath and the gentle touch of reiki distributed by Cora, a certified Reiki Master.

The retreat will also feature another form of meditation, journaling. Guests will receive journals and given writing prompts to reflect on during a tea break. “Having the opportunity to become closer with your higher self, lovingly recognizing who you are, and accepting where you are, through journaling is just as powerful as going into a deep meditation. Both forms keep you ingrained in the present moment.”

Cora and Jen invite everyone to join in this opportunity for self-care, mindfulness and inner peace. “It’s a wonderful time of year to reflect. February we focus on love, for each other and ourselves. Winter is a time to slow down and center ourselves. Embrace the season with us, whether at the retreat or in our studio in Fredonia, we look forward to meeting you.”
