The 2023 Corn Hill Arts Festival in Rochester takes place this year over the weekend of July 8th and 9th. The 55th annual festival in the oldest residential neighborhood in Rochester, will showcase hundreds of artists from all over the country. It stretches through nine streets and several music stages.
A few of the many artists scheduled to be at booths there:
David Lawrence Reade, one of the fine art photographers at the festival, who has had a booth there every year for over twenty-five years, will be bringing his top-selling photos of Letchworth State Park, which was voted America’s most beautiful, and the Adirondacks, as well as other popular images. Mark Chick, an artist whose work is in the category of Artisan Glass Jewelry, has done the show for over thirty years. He works with gold and gold-filled jewelry, and with Australian opals in blown glass. He’ll be at Booth 12-088 and his email is mcartisanjewelry@yahoo.com.
An artist whose work is in the category of Mixed Media, Pat Lewis of Butterfly Junction Designs will have a booth at location 11-030. The designer said, “The products at the booth are made from glass, crystal, polymer, clay, wool, bamboo and silk, and made into fun, affordable, wearable art”. In the category of Textile Weaving and Leather, Carol Gingrich, whose booth is located at 06-163 said, “I combine painting, embroidery, sculpture and photography to create nature-inspired 3D fiber art, My focus is depicting a small moment in time, letting petals, trees, butterflies or insects show us the beauty we sometimes miss. Other categories at the Festival include: Painting, Drawing & Graphics, Consumable Crafts (soaps to skin care, as well as treats), Pottery & Ceramics, and Sculpture & Glass.
This year the Beer Gardens are located on Lunsford Circle at the Gazebo Stage and at the Main Stage/Food Court area. Besides the new location, what’s also new this year are tastings from Colloca Winery.
On July 8th the free musical entertainment begins on the Ide Family of Dealerships Main Stage, with ska music from 10:30am-11:45am. The music categories after that will be as follows:
From 12:15-1:45pm, there will be Original and Classic Jazz and Blues. From 2:25pm-3:55pm, there will be “High Energy” Top 100 Hits and from 4:25pm-6pm you can hear Original Pop, Soul & Funk.
At the Labatt Blue Light Gazebo Stage, from 11am-12:30pm, the music category will be Original Americana, while from 1pm-2;30pm you can hear Original & Classic Pop & Rock. Between 2:50-3:50pm, you can enjoy Pop, Jazz, Blues & Americana music, while from 4:20-6pm, you’ll hear Original Rock.
On July 9th, from 11am-12:40pm on the Main Stage, you can hear Original Blues, Country & Folk, and from 1:10pm-2:50pm, there’s Original & Classic Pop & Rock. From 3:20-5pm, enjoy Classic Blues and Rockabilly music. At the Labatt Blue Light Gazebo Stage, from 10:50am-12:30pm, you can hear Pop, Jazz and Blues; Original Americana, Rock and Soul from 1pm-2:40pm, and Original Rock and Soul, from 3:10pm-4:55pm.
