Chautauqua Medical Aesthetics is a practice that provides high-quality, non-surgical skin treatments and aesthetic care that helps their clients attain optimal skin health. This practice is owned and operated by Dr. Metivia Whitmore and is located at 120 Chautauqua Avenue in Lakewood.

Dr. Whitmore opened Chautauqua Medical Aesthetics in May 2024, along with physician assistants Sarah Uebelhoer and Katie Madden. The three women have worked together for years at Family Health Medical Services and are passionate about helping others. As coworkers and friends for more than 10 years, they established the medical aesthetics practice while continuing to work at Family Health. They consider Chautauqua Medical Aesthetics their fun job, helping clients feel good about themselves.
When Dr. Whitmore and her two colleagues decided they wanted to pursue the medical aesthetics field, they had to undergo training. The three of them have participated in online coursework and completed private training in Texas, where they gained hands-on experience in aesthetic practices. They continue to update their skills through ongoing training.
Starting with Chautauqua Medical Aesthetics begins with a consultation, which consists of a thorough assessment of the client’s skin health, facial structure, and overall health. Then a personalized treatment plan is created specifically for them and considers factors, such as their age, skin type, health history, and desired outcomes. The goal of the treatment plan is to help clients achieve more radiant, glowing skin through innovative methods that focus on rejuvenating their complexion. This may include non-invasive injection therapies, facials, skin care products, and more.
The most common and popular treatments are Jeuveau and Dysport, which are neurotoxin injections similar to Botox. These procedures are non-surgical solutions for reducing lines and wrinkles. The injections are administered into the muscles to help them relax, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance. Each session lasts about 15 minutes and is typically given every four months or so.
Another popular treatment is called microneedling. Microneedling uses the only FDA-approved microneedling device called SkinPen, which creates microscopic holes in the skin, stimulating collagen production. The microneedling process can be enhanced with Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), derived from a client’s own blood, that is injected back into their skin, promoting enhanced healing and deeper penetration. Overall, microneedling improves the skin’s texture and tone, effectively addressing acne scars, lines, and hyperpigmentation while improving the overall tone and texture of the skin.
Chautauqua Medical Aesthetics offers a variety of dermal fillers for the mid-face, lower face, and lips. These facial treatments enhance definition, provide a more youthful appearance, and can lift the jawline. Lip fillers add volume to the lips, and this is particularly popular among young adult patients. Kaitlyn Uber who is a registered nurse, has been added to the staff. She has had years of experience in aesthetics, and she specializes in lip filler treatments.
Additionally, this practice employs a New York State-certified aesthetician named Kristen Silk. Kristen provides clients with medical facials using Zo Skin Health medical-grade products including dermaplaning, facials, and peels. The ZO products are utilized during some treatments, but certain lotions, scrubs, and other ZO products are available for purchase.
Chautauqua Medical Aesthetics is open Monday and Wednesday, 9am-3pm, Friday 10am-4:30pm, and Saturday 10am-1pm. They are closed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
