The Cattaraugus County IDA continues to help local businesses take advantage of Industrial Revenue Bonding to obtain low-cost financing on eligible projects. Even though we’re only 3 ½ months into the year, 2024 has been a busy year thus far, with more exciting projects in the works.

Automobile Museum in Yorkshire

Kless Boys in Yorkshire, NY is investing a $6M dollar project to create a destination automobile museum/restaurant that will attract car enthusiasts for miles around. This family business has been a staple in Cattaraugus County for 30 years, offering automobile sales, collision repair and gasoline in a prime location on the corner of routes 16 & 39. This venture intends to provide a unique restaurant with rooftop dining, as well as a car museum of sorts. “It’s great to see this type of investment in the area, and we’re thrilled to help the Kless family grow their business,” says Corey Wiktor, Executive Director of CCIDA. Once complete, it’ll be sure to attract tourists and help bring business to the area, especially for car and motorcycle shows.”

Dairy Farm Expansion in Freedom

Edelweiss Dairy in Freedom, NY, was approved for a $34M dollar project to expand their dairy farm. This expansion will allow the farm to move forward building approximately 4 new barns as well as 2 milking parlors, allowing 120 cows to be milked at a time. “This is a massive expansion in the dairy industry and a tremendous investment to the area,” says Corey.

Holiday Valley Potential Pickle Ball Courts

Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY applied for 2.4 million dollars in projects to upgrade their snow making equipment, renovate The Inn, perform trail improvement and maintenance, lighting, and potentially add pickle ball courts.  These much-needed improvements will help the Resort further establish itself as a premier four-seasons destination, ultimately attracting tourism to the area year-round.

Adding Workforce to Manufacturing Industry in Olean

Turbo Machining in Olean, NY was approved for a $2M dollar project that will create 10 new jobs in Olean, NY. “It’s great to see an investment like this in the manufacturing industry,” says Corey. “The project will add 13,000 square feet and create jobs in skilled labor, which is great for the area.” Turbo has additional plans to expand further, creating another 20-25 jobs in the near future.

Olean Center Mall Revamp

An investor from Rochester has developed a $9M dollar plan to redevelop the Olean Center Mall, ultimately giving the area a much-needed lift. The project will focus on reshaping and refocusing the area, bringing it up to today’s standards to draw appeal of tenants and businesses.

Growing Cattaraugus County

These projects in addition to others in the process of being approved will make for an exciting year for Cattaraugus County. “We’re excited about all these projects and the positive impact they’ll have on our region.
