Bemus Point invites visitors, village residents, and others from nearby communities to come and enjoy Bemus Point Lake Days. The Bemus Point Lake Days will be August 2-4. It’s a great community event that invites you to come to Bemus Point and explore all of the village businesses for shopping, dining, recreation, and entertainment all weekend long. There are a variety of activities throughout the village, and it’s sure to be a fun weekend.

Some of the village businesses will be running sales and specials. As in years past, the village will be featuring a pirate theme at many of the retail businesses and restaurants. During the weekend, there will be a Bemus Point “Treasure Hunt”. To participate in this treasure hunt, you will visit at least 10 of the 25 participating businesses and collect special stickers. When you have 10 different stickers, you should turn them in at any location to enter the drawing for a chance to win the grand prize. The Grand Prize “treasure” is a basket of goodies and gift cards from all of the participating businesses. The treasure hunt starts August 2 and ends August 4 at 3pm.

Near the Village Casino is the Bemus Point – Stow Ferry. The ferry will have been “taken over by pirates” and the pirates will be there to amuse and entertain you as you ride across the lake on this historic ferry. Come dressed as a pirate and join in the fun.

As part of the Bemus Point Lake Days, The Village Casino will be having its Wing Fest.  Wings will be $1 a piece, and they will be trying to break the Guinness World’s Record by selling over 50,000 wings in a 24-hour period. They will be selling wings on Saturday from 5pm-3am, and on Sunday from 9am- 5pm. As part of this Wing Fest, there will be live music and other activities. On Saturday, Goldirocks performs classic music hits from 5pm-8pm. Later that evening, an Erie PA band called Flight will be rocking the docks.  They will play classic rock and metal tunes starting at 9:30pm. On Sunday the Untouchables perform. They are an energetic party band playing music from the 50s through the 80s from 11am-2pm. Erie’s Theory of Evolution will play an eclectic set list from 2pm-5pm. There is likely to be a band in the evening, yet to be determined. For children, there will be face painting both days.  On Sunday Marty’s Bubble Gum Machine will entertain the children with his fun musical show.

If you need a ride from a distant parking spot, or just want a little tour of the village, look for Miss Joanie’s Shuttle Service. Miss Joanie will be providing rides around the village in her 6-person golf cart limousine. The rides are free, but tips are appreciated.

The Bemus Point Historical Society will have its big annual fundraising yard sale on Alburtus Avenue starting at 9am. The proceeds will go to special programs for students in the Bemus Point School District.

Lawson Center Boat Museum will have free admission. You are invited to browse the museum and there will be some kind of children’s activities to go along with the pirate them.

The Bemus Golf and Tap House is featuring their Green Egg Fest on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Contrary to the name, this fest has very little to do with actual eggs. It is named Egg Fest because all the food will be prepared on a Big Green Egg charcoal grill. This grill is an oval ceramic cooking grill. The walls are very thick, and it stores intense heat that radiates throughout the food and cooks it in a most delicious way. There will be 15-20 grills with hand-picked chefs preparing a variety of foods ranging from breakfasts, various meats, and even desserts. Your admittance ticket will include one free draft beer, a sampling of all the foods, and a raffle ticket for a drawing to win a Green Egg grill. Along with the delicious food, there will also be live music. A talented duo, 5 Second Rule will be performing from 12pm-3pm.Then Jason Lawergren will perform from 5:30-9pm.

Other area venues like EBC, The See Zurh House, 14 Main, The Fish, and Splash are likely to have live music too, but the schedule was not been available in time for this article. Check out their websites and Facebook pages for updates.

These activities are some of the highlights of the Bemus Point Lake Days. It’s going to be a great community event that promotes participation in the village businesses and enjoyment of the beautiful lake. Come on out and enjoy all that Bemus Point has to offer.
