-Ellicottville, NY-
With our Fall foliage near peak, and cooler Autumn temps, we had a feeling it was going to be a big year for Ellicottville’s Annual Fall Festival. It’s a weekend in Ellicottville where all the prep-work, and long workdays for the local business owners and Chamber staff, are well worth it. The village transforms into a giant outdoor arts and crafts show, there’s hilltop cookouts, chair lift rides, endless live entertainment, hay wagon rides, shopping, corn mazes, night lights, and so much more. It’s no wonder so many people find any reason, and every reason, to be a part of our Fall Festivities.
From an organizer’s standpoint- it always feels good to put another Fall Festival in the books. Many people don’t realize that our Fall Festival is run by an office of three. It certainly wouldn’t be possible for us to pull off an event of this size without the help of the Ellicottville DPW, over fifteen flagmen directing traffic, the Ellicottville Volunteer Fire Department, Cattaraugus County Emergency Medical Services, Ellicottville Police Department, Ellicottville Great Valley Ambulance Service, and of course, our local businesses.
“It’s no question that the preparation of the event is a huge undertaking, however it’s certainly worth it in the end. To walk around and see our storefronts busy, people laughing and families young and old enjoying our small piece of the planet is nothing short of rewarding.” says Jessica Wallace, Business Development Manager at The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce.
Every year we look at how we can improve the event for the years to come, and one thing that’s notable, is the efforts put in to keep our village clean on a busy weekend like Fall Festival. With the help of the Ellicottville DPW, ECS students, our local businesses- especially Balloons, and EBC, who have their cleaning crews out on Monroe Street at 4AM Sunday morning with Jessica, Jackie and Brian from the Chamber, the village was close to being the cleanest we’ve ever seen!
It goes without saying that Fall Festival is a record-breaking event year after year, providing plenty of opportunity for our local economy. This year we estimate approximately $130,000 thousand were raised for local non-profit organizations. A big shout out to Holiday Valley, HoliMont, and Pumpkinville for hosting many activities giving families lots to explore and do!
We thank everyone who was a part of another successful Fall Festival! If you haven’t had a chance to get down Ellicottville, there’s still plenty of time for you to find your favorite autumn adventure! For more information visit Ellicottvilleny.com.
