Spread the love

By Kate Bartlett

Studio 4 E offers screen printing, custom design and embroidery located in beautiful Allegheny at 103 E Main Street. As the area’s premier custom apparel designer, they pride themselves on their artwork, quality and customer service. Mark Riordan and Kara Fortuna are the proud co-owners of Studio 4E and are ready to help make visions come to life. “It’s our honor to work with our customers, helping their visions become a reality. We love to watch our companies grow, and be a part of that venture.”

Mark and Kara purchased Studio 4E from the Brothers Wintermantel in January 2021. Mikel, Dan and Peter started the business in 1979 in their grandparent’s basement at 4E Main Street. “The Wintermantels are iconic in Alleghany. They expanded their empire and ran this strong business for over 40 years, until it was time to pass on the torch. Mark and Kara decided to combine forces and seized the opportunity, and haven’t looked back.

The Studio has had fluent carryover in customers from the Wintermantels, along with some new additions. “It’s our pleasure to serve customers year after year, and watch their businesses grow. We save all designs and it’s fun to update logos in years to come.”

With extensive experience at Zippo as a graphic designer, Kara brings customers’ visions to print. Mark had always dreamed about owning his own business and frequently worked with design companies throughout his career in college athletics and fundraising for Alfred State. Originally from Olean, he is happy to be settling back home after working in various states around the country. Mark has enjoyed this journey with Studio 4E in taking ‘the leap’ and perusing his creative endeavors. “It’s great to be my own boss, and the job is different every single day.

Studio 4E has their storefront and retail at 103 W Main Street and houses a variety of t-shirts and other apparel, including St. Bonaventure. They also offer online shopping and specialize in large orders for team and custom apparel. They’ve partnered with the EVL Chamber of Commerce for Fall Fest and supply shirts for the Chautauqua Old First Night 10/10K race.

“We work hard to get the customer what they want. There’s a good mix of artwork and creativity that goes into the design of the shirt or product. We like to think of ourselves as partners in branding with our customers. It’s great to be able to help customers solidify their brand. We take pride in knocking it out of the park every single time. We aren’t happy until the customer is completely satisfied, so you’ll tell your friends, family and neighbors about your experience.”
