Dozens of Farmers Markets abound this season offering a variety of fresh produce and more across Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. Eat fresh, shop small and support local all while opting outside and enjoying these outdoor markets.
Ellicottville Farmers Market – Typically held on Friday’s during Ellicottville’s popular Stroll the Streets, this daytime location offers locally grown and made delicacies from within a 25-mile radius including seasonal fruits and vegetables, gourmet preserves and baked goods, honey and maple products, meat, poultry, eggs, fresh cut flowers, kids’ activities, live music, and much more. Salamanca Farmers Market– Tuesdays from 11-5 until October 25th located at 768 Broad Street in Salamanca (across from McDonalds) featuring a variety of vendors including farms, baked goods, leather and wood carving, tie-dye, soaps, paintings, bags, Avon, kettle corn and native crafts. Olean Farmers Market– Saturdays 8-1pm in the Lincoln Park Pavilion on South Street is open until October 25th. An impressive list of up to 20 vendors featuring produce, seasonal berries, vegetable starts, herbs, potted plants, hanging baskets, meats, eggs, baked goods (including sweet breads, artisanal, pies, fudge, and cookies, vegan, gluten-free scones and cookies) herbal tea blends, honey, and seasonal flower arrangements. Light Work Farm will be selling heirloom vegetable plants and herbs. Several craft vendors featuring fiber arts, art notecards, furnishings, essential oil blends, and yarn work. Credit terminal at the market accepts credit, debit, and SNAP EBT cards, and many of its vendors participate in the WIC and FMNP programs. SNAP payment options also available.
Enchanted Mountain Farmers Market – Is open Friday afternoons 2-6pm in the Tractor Supply parking lot (1900 Constitution Avenue, Olean) until Labor Day. Vendors include produce, baked goods, jams & jellies, eggs and meat, crafts, honey, jewelry, metal works, Avon, and jewelry. Follow on Facebook for featured events through the season. Chautauqua Farmers Market’s – Chautauqua Farmers Markets – Running mid-June to mid-October unless otherwise noted. Cassadaga Farmers’ Market -Join select vendors from the Fredonia Farmers Market on Sunday afternoons for fresh produce, meats, baked goods, crafts, and more. Route 60, Maple Avenue, Cassadaga, NY
Dunkirk Farmers Market – Offering a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables on Wednesdays 9am-2pm. Falconer Farmers Market – Locally grown fruit, vegetables, Amish goods, and more. The market is held in Davis Park (Main and Homestead Streets) on Fridays from 11am-6pm.
Forestville Farmers Market – Fresh produce including blackberries, cauliflower, kale, raspberries, strawberries, Swiss chard, yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes and more on Main Street next to the post office in Forestville on Thursdays from 9am-1pm.
Fredonia Farmers Market – Is open 9am – 1pm on Saturdays from June-October on Church St. in Fredonia and the Masonic Lodge November to May 10am-1pm. Locally grown produce – vegetables, fruits, maple syrup, honey, brown eggs. Quilts, flowers, baskets, artisans, jewelry, soy candles, and more.
Jamestown Public Market – Is open Saturdays 10am-2pm on Third Street – between North Main and Cherry Streets, featuring locally grown produce, organic fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses, baked goods, gourmet coffee, lunch, and special activities and more. Lakewood Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market – Is open Thursdays 10am-2pm, June to September on Chautauqua Avenue in Lakewood, offering fresh, local fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and much more.
Irving Peaceful Soul Farmer’s Market – Is open Tuesdays 9-2 in the Native Pride Travel Plaza, 11359 Southwestern Boulevard in Irving. “The mission of the Peaceful SOUL Farmers Market is to establish a venue for the support of a vibrant community farmer’s market providing fresh wholesome foods grown by local farmers and a space for showcasing native craftsmen to sell their artisan works. PSFM believes that a quality market experience provides consumers a better quality of life.”
Westfield Farmers and Artisans Market– Voted #1 in NYS runs through October from 9am-2pm on Saturdays in Moore Park in the center of Westfield. Locally grown produce, fresh eggs, pork, beef, chicken, honey and maple syrup, jam, jelly, and baked goods. Also featuring Amish baskets, locally produced salsa and dressings, handmade clothing, purses, throw rugs, jewelry, stained glass, paintings, craft items and the published literary works by local authors. Have a picnic and enjoy prepared foods suitable for breakfast or lunch as well and hot and cold beverages are available for purchase.
