Bemus Point NY
If your boat has a motor, you must carry a NYS Boating Safety Certificate. Kayaks Canoes and paddleboards aren’t required to have this certificate but all other boat operators must have one. Children under 10 are not permitted to get a certificate.
Bemus Point-Stow Ferry Pilot. USCG Auxiliary and a NYS Safe Boating Instructor volunteer Mary Margaret Wagner will be leading a full class of 60 students to take the NYS Boaters Safety Class at The Lawson Ctr Saturday May 9th.
Typically, in person classes cost $35-$40 dollars. Some on-line courses charge $50. Unless you are under 18, the state requires a fee for the actual certificate.
This free event is being co-sponsored by The Bemus Point-Stow Ferry and The Lawson Ctr. We want to see more safe boaters on Chautauqua Lake this summer.
