Smilo & the Ghost are bringing their unique blend of Bluegrass, indie, rock, and a touch of twang to Art’s Cafe on Saturday, January 25th for a concert. With songs written by Tyler Smilo, their music is a heartfelt expression of the belief that art inspires change and fosters growth.
The band is made up of four members: Tyler Smilo (guitar, vocals), Adam McKillip (mandolin, vocals), Jassen Wilber (bass guitar), and Dominick DeCecco (banjo, vocals). Their albums have been voted among Erie Reader’s top albums, and they have opened for national acts like Grammy Award Winning country duo Dan + Shay and alt-rock legends 10,000 Maniacs.
They have released 4 albums with their latest being Twang & Fire, receiving a 5 star rating from Erie Reader in 2024. The album provides a “lush window into our own battles and victories through the poetic transparency of Tyler Smilo’s lyrics and rich voice.” Their compositions are complex, and perfectly showcases the band’s “gifted musicianship” (Erie Reader).
