The Candlelight Concert Series, by Fever Entertainment, brings classical music to every taste, featuring a variety of music genres amongst thousands of candles for a memorable experience like none other. The live, multi-sensory musical has delighted millions in more than 150 cities worldwide, with a number of upcoming shows at Forbes Theatre in Buffalo, including a Taylor Swift tribute on November 17th.
The Candlelight Concert Series were created as succession of original music concerts aimed at making classical music more accessible, increasing exposure, and ultimately deepening appreciation across all ages. Their innovative format represents a variety of musical genres, to meet all tastes, played by local musicians in iconic venues, with the space and performers
illuminated by thousands of candles.
Classical music has long been considered a discriminatory and difficult-to-access genre, but partly due to events like the Candlelight Series, it has become within almost everyone’s reach. When launched in Madrid in 2019, Candlelight Concerts focused mainly on the greatest composers such as Vivaldi, Chopin or Beethoven. Now, the ever-growing list of programs includes a wide variety of themes and genres, including tributes to contemporary artists like Queen, ABBA, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran, as well as shows dedicated to anime, movie soundtracks and many more.
The Candlelight Series strives to perform in iconic locations, rather than confined to traditional halls. The concerts have been performed in various sizes in all kinds of idyllic venues, spanning from modern rooftops with great views to iconic cathedrals, palaces, libraries and gardens. Some examples include the Tour Eiffel (Paris), Burj Al Arab Jumeirah (Dubai), Central Hall Westminster (London), Niagara Falls (Ontario), S.EA. Aquarium (Singapore), and many more in over 150 cities across America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Candlelight Concerts work with talented local musicians who align with the belief that classical music can reach a diverse audience and demonstrate this by performing compositions for all tastes. Guests are invited to connect with musical pieces on a more personal level. The musicians encourage interaction and speaking to the crowd directly, sharing information about the programming.
In Buffalo, The Candlelight Concert Series will be performed in the historic Forbes Theatre, located at 500 Pearl. The Forbes Theatre was originally built in 1920 and served as a social function. The remarkable ceiling has been fully restored with hand painted designs complete with the original gold chandeliers. The room offers a mezzanine level in addition to the stage and access to an outdoor balcony overlooking Pearl Street. This historic yet modern Buffalo gem serves as a popular venue for weddings, conferences, Galas, fundraisers, theatre productions and other events.
Candlelight Concerts will host a variety of performances at The Forbes Theatre throughout the season, including A Tribute to Taylor Swift (Nov 17, 7pm), A Tribute to Queen (Nov 17, 7:30), Holiday Carols on Strings (Dec 15, 6pm), Holiday Special Featuring pieces from The Nutcracker & More (Dec 15, 7:30), A Tribute to Coldplay (Jan 12, 6pm), Neo-Soul Favorites, featuring songs by Prince, Childish Gambino, & More (Jan 12, 8:30).
