Blue Moon Management is a local company that provides management services for local musicians and includes booking management, publicity, and promotion services. On November 9, Blue Moon Management is excited to welcome back Donna the Buffalo to Jamestown, as they will be performing once again at the Spire Theater located at 317 East Third Street.
The Spire Theater is within a church (formerly the First Congregational Church across the street from Jamestown High School) that was built in 1868, and it is one of the oldest standing churches in Jamestown. The church has been renovated and repurposed as a Center for the Arts. It features an open and relaxed setting with a sloped floor to provide optimum visibility even if you are seated toward the back. There is a dance floor area, and it has the capacity to hold about five hundred people. This venue often hosts local bands, musicals, comedy shows and has been the site for Chautauqua’s Got Talent.
The owners of the Spire Theater are Angelo Valentino-Giuffre and Ylsa Giuffre, and they are excited to have Donna the Buffalo’s return to their venue. Most people in this area are well acquainted with Donna the Buffalo and know that they are well known nationally. The band formed in the Finger Lakes Region in the late 1980’s. Two of the original founding members are Tara Nevins and Jeb Puryear. Tara provides vocals and plays the guitar, fiddle, and the accordion. Jeb also sings and plays the guitar. Together, along with the rest of the band, they have been entertaining audiences for decades. Their energetic and soulful performances include mostly original music. They have recorded over ten albums including Rocking the Weary Land, Silverlined, and Dance in the Street. Their music has a unique eclectic blend of Americana roots rock music that is influenced by other genres including but not limited to rock, folk, bluegrass, reggae, country, and zydeco music. The audience will enjoy the upbeat positive essence that will move them with their harmonic tunes, leaving everyone craving for more.
Donna the Buffalo has become one of the most admired and popular bands in the Americana music scene. They are currently on tour performing concerts in many states on the east coast including locations in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, and more. You may wonder why this nationally recognized band has returned repeatedly to the small city of Jamestown. Well, Jamestown is very near and dear to the hearts of the band members. They have performed several times at the Blue Heron Music Festival held in Sherman, NY and often return as one of the headliners. Because of this, the band has strong ties to this area, and they really enjoy coming back here to perform.
To add to the excitement, local talented musicians Charity Nuse and Jeremy Bunce will be the opening first, as they get the audience warmed up for the main act. Charity is a former member of Big Leg Emma and she is very well known locally. She and Jeremy have been performing in the Jamestown area music scene at restaurants, bars, breweries, and festivals. They will be a good compliment to Donna the Buffalo, as they perform a similar style of music and will be an exciting addition to the show.
The concert on November 9th at the Spire Theater promises to be an amazing musical event that you don’t want to miss. The seating is general admission and the doors open at 6pm. Charity and Jeremy will begin performing at 7pm, followed by Donna the Buffalo at 8:30pm. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, go to donnathebuffalo.com and click on the tour tab at the top. Presale tickets are now $35 until November 8th, and they will be $40 at the door. For refreshments, there will be a selection of Southern Tier beer, domestic beer, and wine as well a few snack items available to purchase.
The Jamestown area is fortunate to have the return of Donna the Buffalo. This exhilarating concert is sure to be an extraordinary musical performance. From the warmup music with Charity Nuse and Jeremy Bunce, to the energized yet soulful sounds of Donna the Buffalo, be ready to move to the beat in your seats and maybe even get up on the dance floor.
