Forte Restaurant is officially re-opened and the community is delighted! Located in downtown Jamestown, New York, Forte is a hip bar and restaurant specializing in Southeast Asian street food and eclectic cocktails. The previous owner, Peggy Kaltenmeier, was devoted to creating meals designed with fresh and unique ingredients to mix up the classics. In 2020, she had to make the difficult decision to close the doors at Forte due to many uncontrollable situations. In time, she was ready to approach new owners and sought after the talent of those that ran the 2 Ames restaurant at Chautauqua Institution.
Danny Borg-Sundstrom and Greg Alpert took over Forte, seeing the restaurant as an extension of 2 Ames that would be open year-round. In taking over the space they updated the decor to provide a fun and innovative food and beverage culinary experience. The menu is ever evolving to showcase fresh ingredients and to allow for a variety of vegan and vegetarian options as well as accommodate dietary restrictions. In addition to their full menu, sushi will be back every Wednesday and Tuesdays are for tacos featuring a menu that will change slightly each week. Most recently featured have been the shrimp and cabbage, steak tenderloin and vegetable tacos. In addition to the amazing cuisine, the bar has a plethora of craft cocktails, an extensive wine and beer list, and many innovative mocktails.
What an exciting restaurant to choose for your New Year’s Eve celebration! Forte will be featuring a tasting event with sushi by Kyle, seafood, and A-5 Wagyu. There will be two seatings at 5pm and 8pm and tickets are $75. Reservations can be made online at: www.exploretock.com/forte-jamestown.
