Welcome to Fall Festival
Ellicottville Celebrates Changing of Season Event

Spread the love

By Chad Neal

Another revolution around the sun brings us to the pinnacle of the year for Ellicottville. It all leads up to Fall Fest. This is the largest festival Ellicottville hosts throughout the twelve-month cycle (and we have several). The size of the festival has grown throughout the decades as our Village and Town itself. We see change every year, hence this yearly article giving a brief review of the new businesses that have come to find this Bubble of Awesomeness their home. We’ve seen many new places come into Ellicottville and it is going to keep growing and seeing new ventures arise every year. This list is just as exciting as the past years’ Insider’s Guide, it should give a condensed commentary of the growth we have seen this past year.

The Vintage Hairpin
23 Jefferson Street, Ellicottville
(716) 803-7318

The Vintage Hairpin is the newest salon in Ellicottville in the same building on Jefferson St. as 716 Realty. This is the second location for the owners as their first was established in Gowanda, New York. It is a full amenity salon that offers styling, cutting, color and more. They are looking to branch out to cosmetology and spa services and esthetics. They can be contacted by calling 716-803-7318.

Hildalgo Grill Mexican Restaurant
32 Washington Street, Ellicottville
(716) 699-1141

The newest eatery in Ellicottville is the authentic Mexican restaurant located on Washington St. right where Tips-Up Cafe was located, between The Gin Mill and Madigan’s. This family-owned bar and grill serves up delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine and they have a full bar as well. The atmosphere is genuine and the staff and family are friendly and accommodating. Easily found on the main drag, Hildalgo Grill is a very popular new addition to Ellicottville. The menu is extensive and the cuisine is legitimate!

Cygaro Cigar Club and Lounge is located right on Washington St. up the stairs next to Hildalgo Grill. It is a luxury lounge that offers a large selection of premium cigars. Old West Co.
18 Washington Street, Ellicottville
(716) 378-5278

Another business which opened recently at 18 Washington Street in the Village is Old West Co. This boutique offers the styles of the old west variety that many western resort towns have found to be popular. Dubbed as a “Western store with a modern kick”, they are marketing their style in hats, boots and fashion that are “country western forward”. They offer a hat bar for customers to personalize their own cowboy hats with bands, colors, and feathers and they also offer fashion cowboy boots for women and western-style shorts, skirts, dresses and more. For men, they have boots, belts, wallets and are bringing in more men’s clothing as well. Locally owned, this style is pure Ellicottville and mountain resort minded.

3SproutsChildrensBoutique@gmail.com

Located at 13 Monroe Street, this new shoppe in Ellicottville offers stylish clothing and a modern shopping experience for kids “just born through to their teenage years”. A lot of Buffalo Bills apparel is on the racks along with stylish clothing for the children and toys, accessories, and gifts. There is also a selection of home and nursery decor.    Not open yet, but soon, as construction is still under way in the building next to Kwik Fill, the Ellicottville Bake shop will offer breads and baked goods that will be wafting the aromas throughout the village every morning as they make their delectable baked goods. Croissants and scones, specialty breads and made to order goods will also be offered at 5 Washington Street in the plaza. And adjacent to them in the same building the comeback of Hatchet Ratchet will be opening soon as well. Be on the lookout.

Ellicottville locals Brenda and Chris Perks helped to get the outdoor skate park built at the Village Park in Ellicottville and have also opened up an indoor skate park and skate shop.  Daily City Train may seem familiar as the punk band Rancid has a hit song with the same name, but the newest and prototypical place in Ellicottville located next to Tim & Bonnies on Bristol Lane, Daily City Train offers a dynamic indoor skate park along with skateboards, protective gear, branded apparel, and accessories. Most wheeled rides are welcome including boards, bikes, roller skates and scooters. You can grind all year long, outdoors at the park or indoors at Daily City Train.
