Graduations Can Make Time Stand Still
An evening Southwestern Graduates Made

Spread the love

“Freeze this moment a little bit longer. Make each sensation a little bit stronger.

Summers going fast nights growing colder. Children growing up Old Friends growing older.” — RUSH

A great big “Thank You” goes out to the SWCS (Southwestern Central School) Keeper of the Classes; the Undeniable and Incredible Kathy Allen Sullivan, for making these moments possible. I wouldn’t have missed it, and the Moose Club was perfect for this gathering of “Snobs under the Dome”.  It was a wish come true to tell Herr Pfaff, my 9th & 10th grade German teacher who recommended I take Spanish my Junior Year, that though I never got past, Ich Liebe dich, I had the honor of representing Chancellor Helmut Kohl in a mock EU summit. Our beloved p.e. teacher & coach, Mr. Tom Priester was on the scene, as was my favorite English teacher Mrs. Anne Tenney Smith. While she has a place in the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame for excellence in Coaching HS tennis, she was kind enough to let me know in 9th grade I should consider cheerleading.

It was great to turn our backs to the wind to catch our breath, before starting off again, driven on,

“We took a moment to spend an evening with a drink and Old Fiends”!

Southwestern Red and Blue, praises we sing!
