RTPI’s Art After Five Events
Roger Tory Peterson Institute Hosts in Jamestown

Spread the love

Mr. David Niles knows how to get the Memorial Day Party started at Roger Tory Peterson Institute. Tim Britt Flew in to wow the crowd at the lodge!

While organizing 3rd Thursdays was indeed a great honor, I am no M.C. or promoter, but I know a few of the best. One of my very favorite friends and planners of all things extraordinary where the birds fly, is RTPI’s own David Niles. If you have not yet attended one of his monthly, “ART after 5” programs, you have yet to experience one of the area’s most outstanding Jamestown venue’s. While the exhibits are always worth the trip, Art after 5 doubles down on the entertainment and often includes Q & A sessions with the Artist in Residence and visiting artists alike. I have met some of the best of the best and strongly recommend you make reservations for one soon. Maria Ferguson is RTPI’s super intuitive Curator and knows where to find the greatest works and most educational panels for timely and topical conversations. My Birdbrain has been deeply enriched.

Last Friday night “The Lodge” kicked off the holiday weekend with the one and only, Tim Britt from our sister city of wings, Buffalo. Of course, the pun is intended. Tim was just like one of our flock, even though it was his first appearance here. He enjoyed himself, as much as we all enjoyed his music, and our local artist, Joe Rice blew his mind with his, in real time, rendering of Tims performance. Playing everyone’s favorites, {he actually sent around a request sheet}, he was imediately a hit! He promised to come back soon, but I bet it won’t be long before the chirping gets out and he is playing around town somewhere soon. David loves to share his greatest finds with his Jamestown friends.

Each monthly event is $20i f you are not a member, but for the fee of a membership the discounts on events and in the gift shop, are a bargain at twice the price. For you to enjoy, in addition to the music and exhibits, you can choose a glass of wine, or a bottle of beer, as well as, a trip or two to the Charcuterie Table. Enjoy a delightful evening of elegance among the Flora and Fauna that inspired young Roger himself, found only at “The Lodge” of “The Roger Tory Institute of Natural History”. Located across Curtis Street from the SUNY campus of Jamestown Community College. I will keep my Birdseye open for you and a spot at the table under the moonlight.
