Are you excited to welcome the spring season after this long winter that we have had? The Peek n’ Peak Resort, located at 1405 Olde Road in Clymer, invites you to do so by joining them for their annual Spring Fest from March 13th to March 15th, where fun and excitement await you and your family. With a festive St. Patrick’s Day theme, this year’s festival will bring back some beloved old favorite activities while introducing some new experiences that you won’t want to miss.
The Spring Fest gets set in motion on Friday night, with the Kick-off Celebration featuring the Riff Riders Duo Remix. They will get the party started as they play their acoustic versions of some bluesy, high energy, fun rock from 9:30pm-12:30am in the Bistro 210. Sit back and enjoy this great performance.
On Saturday morning, you don’t want to miss one of the main highlights of this festival which is the highly anticipated Cardboard Box Derby. It will take place on the Beginner’s Hill at 11am with registration starting at 9:30am in the main lodge. Participants create a decorated cardboard box and showcase their creation as they travel down the slope. Imagine their excitement as the contestants wait their turn to race down the slope in their creation in front of the cheering crowd. All participants must be at least three years old, must wear a helmet, and follow all the guidelines. Costumes and creativity are encouraged as there will be prizes for kids and adults for creativity, best team spirit and fastest time.
Later that afternoon, excitement builds for the exhilarating Pond Skim contest taking place at 2pm behind the lodge with registration between 11am-12pm in the lodge lobby. It will feature a St. Patrick’s Day theme and participants will race down the hill on skis or snowboards and glide across the pond earning points for distance, speed, and style. Prizes include a season pass for the best overall, an overnight stay at Peek n Peak for the most spirited, and four combo passes for the Adventure Course for the best splash. This is always a thrilling event for both participants and spectators.
You will also find some entertainment by joining DJ Mark on the lodge deck, as he will be playing tunes there from 12pm to 5pm. You can enjoy the party music atmosphere and participate is some fun giveaways. There will be food available at the outdoor grill, beer served in ice mugs in the beer tent, and drinks at the ice bar that will include chilled shots down the ice luge.
This year, they are introducing a new activity called the Old Man Winter Contest, taking place at the Waffle Shack at 12:30pm. This all-ages event where attendees dress up as Old Man Winter as featured on their website or creatively dress to express what winter means to them. They encourage participants to be imaginative in their interpretation of winter. Ultimate Scott Enterprise gift cards will be awarded to the top three participants. So, get creative, and you might win one of these prizes, which can be used at any Scott Enterprise’s locations, including Peek ‘n Peak, Splash Lagoon, and Oliver’s in Erie.
After some outdoor fun, you may want to head indoors to have a bite to eat and enjoy some live music. Jesse Smith will be playing in the Sports Bar on Saturday from 7-10pm. For those of you that want to keep the party going, DJ Felix will provide some entertainment as he spins the tunes from 9:30pm-12:30am in the Bistro 210. Feel free to request your favorite dance songs and dance the night away.
As the festival begins to wind down Sunday afternoon, you can enjoy the Bloody Mary/Mimosa Bar in the Sports Bar from 12-4pm, that will conclude the festive activities for the Spring Fest weekend.
