2025 was another incredibly successful and exciting year of projects for the Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency. With over 15 projects bringing projected an impressive amount of money to the area, the CCIDA remains invested in the county’s economic growth.

The CCIDA has been facilitating economic growth to Cattaraugus County for over 54 years. Authorized and empowered by the State of New York the organization aims to “retain, promote and assist business development thereby advancing job opportunities and economic welfare to the people of Cattaraugus County.”

Corey Wiktor, Executive of the CCIDA, remarks on the projects of 2025 and the overall success of the CCIDA.  “It was another very busy and successful year for the economy of our area,” says Corey. “Since 2020, we’ve seen this trend of economic stimulation in Cattaraugus County, and we are thrilled to assist in these projects for the continued growth of our area. We have so many great projects happening, multimillion dollar investments that will make such an incredible difference in strengthening the economy of our county.”

The CCIDA assisted in a wide variety of projects, ranging from small businesses to large agricultural and manufacturing projects, upwards of $30 million dollars. “It’s great to have a mix of projects,” says Corey. “We are proud to assist in the development of all these businesses, from the small businesses like Rusty Rooster in Portville, to the manufacturing and large business, and the venerable ski resorts of Holiday Valley and HoliMont that continue to invest in our area, bringing key resources to the community.”

The CCIDA has been facilitating economic growth to Cattaraugus County for over 54 years. This year’s wide variety of projects included the Rusty Rooster in Portville • Canadian manufacturing company, Daich Coatings Corporation, opening a facility in Little Valley • Edelweiss Dairy in Freedom • Creeley Construction’s new short-term rental development units across from HoliMont • and BarBill’s revitalization of The Ellicottville Depot.

This year, the CCIDA assisted the first Canadian manufacturing company in setting up their American production site in the village of Cattaraugus. Daich Coatings Corporation purchased the former Setter Stix building and will make this their US Headquarters for producing ecofriendly water-based coatings for garage floors, driveways and countertop applications for both home and business. This will ultimately bring around 25 jobs to the area.

The CCIDA also assisted Edelweiss Dairy in a $30+ million project to grow their dairy operations in Freedom. “These companies have been, and continue to be, important to our economy,” explains Corey. “Agriculture brings a lot of revenue to our county.”

Creeley Construction continues to invest in Ellicottville, as they are planning a $7.5 million dollar project to construct 27 short-term rental units across from HoliMont. Upon completion, these units will offer an elevated, boutique short-term rental option to the area, similar to their 5-Star Aranar Luxury Retreat Villas constructed a few years prior. “Jake and his team have done a fantastic job planning these rentals,” explains Corey. “They’ve utilized the land topography to optimize privacy, and will keep 87% of the land green-space.”

Another exciting project was in Ellicottville was assisting in revitalizing The Depot as it came under new management by the owners of BarBill Tavern. “It’s great to see new life in this building,” says Corey. “We’re thrilled to have assisted in this project, bringing another great dining option to the area while preserving a bit of history.”
