The Chophouse on Main
Downtown Jamestown Steakhouse

Spread the love

By Darlene Brace

The Chop House on Main, located in downtown Jamestown, is owned by Spencer and Stephanie Erickson, who have held ownership since December 2024. Before taking over the restaurant, Spencer studied at the Pennsylvania Culinary in Pittsburgh. He had served as the head chef at The Chop House for the previous owner for over a year. When the owners decided to sell the restaurant, Spencer and Stephanie saw it as the perfect opportunity to purchase the establishment and make it their own.

After acquiring the restaurant, they decided to keep most of the menu items the same, but they slightly adjusted the prices to make dining there more affordable for their customers. Spencer continues to serve as the head chef at The Chop House, emphasizing that he prepares nearly all the food himself and that everything is made fresh from scratch in-house. Stephanie overseas the operations of the restaurant.

The Chop House on Main is a fine dining restaurant that offers an upscale atmosphere with spacious and comfortable seating, complemented by soft music playing in the background. You can start your meal with a tantalizing appetizer before exploring the rest of their amazing menu. The menu features several outstanding steaks, including the popular 32-ounce Tomahawk ribeye, which draws people from near and far. In addition to their incredible steaks, there is a wide variety of other dishes, including pasta, salads, seafood, chicken, and more.  Be sure to leave room to indulge in one of their delicious desserts. Please note, there is also a kids’ menu that includes items like burgers and chicken fingers.

While this is thought to be a high-end steakhouse, it offers a variety of price ranges, making it more suitable for different budgets. One aspect that contributes to its more budget-friendly appeal is the range of specials available. You can enjoy sitting at the fully stocked bar, for their bar specials such as a steak special, which features an 8 oz sirloin, a side, and a beer or wine. Additionally, they offer a daily seafood special and have half-off appetizers at the bar from 4-8pm, Monday through Thursday.

Toward the back of the restaurant, there is a spacious banquet room available for private parties. This room can comfortably accommodate 50 to 75 people and they offer a designated banquet menu that outlines the available food options. It can be used for small weddings, business luncheons, conferences, or any other type of social gathering. Feel free to call ahead to review the banquet menu options that they offer.

The Ericksons host a fun lineup of special events that you don’t want to miss. One of their customers’ favorites is Jazz Night, held every Monday. On Jazz Night, enjoy the vibrant sounds of local jazz musicians Raz and Friends that create a lively atmosphere from 5:30pm-8:30pm. It’s the perfect way to kick off your week. On Thursdays, enjoy half-price martinis while sitting at the bar, featuring a variety of delicious martini options. On Saturdays, talented pianist Kim Childs performs, starting at 5:30pm.

The Chop House also hosts paint-and-sip events that occur about once a month, giving you the chance to unleash your inner artist while sipping on your favorite drink. Occasionally, you’ll also find exclusive wine pairing events that promise to tantalize your taste buds.

The Chop House on Main is open from 4pm to 9pm, Monday through Thursday, 4pm-10pm on Friday and Saturday, and closed on Sundays. The Ericksons want their customers to know that they are flexible and that they are open to accommodating special requests, such as hosting events on Sundays or at different hours, or may even shut down the entire restaurant down to accommodate a wedding.

The Ericksons would also like people to know that even though their business is a quality steakhouse, there is a wide variety of food choices and price ranges. It is there hope that that people will feel comfortable coming in and join them for dinner anytime and not just for special occasions. Whether you’re attending a business meeting, celebrating a large party, or enjoying a romantic dinner for two, each evening promises a fine dining experience in an elegant setting.

In December, it will be the one-year anniversary of the Ericksons owning The Chop House on Main, and they will likely be announcing some specials and events to commemorate this special occasion. Keep your eyes open for more details to come. For more information you can visit their Facebook page or website (chophouseonmain.com), and you can make reservations by calling 716-708-6978.
