for skiing with communities
across the state.

An Ellicottville native, Caitlin started skiing at a young age. “I don’t even remember learning how to ski,” she explains. “It’s always been a part of my life, it’s who I am. I’m passionate about helping other families fall in love with the sport the way my family has.”

NYSSRA is the official governing body for ski and snowboard racing in New York State. The organization administers all sanctioned ski racing in the state, selects teams, coordinates races and projects, and provides education, development, and financial support to athletes, coaches, and officials. As a nonprofit, NYSSRA is dedicated to building strong fundamentals and fostering a lifelong love of the sport from junior levels through higher levels of competition.

Caitlin has already been serving NYSSRA as Assistant Development Director and is enthusiastic about enhancing programming in her new expanded role. She brings a strong combination of ski industry experience and business expertise from her background in real estate. “I’m proud to take on this role, and I’m looking forward to working with this incredible organization to bring much-needed programming to athletes and coaches,” she says.

NYSSRA offers a wide range of educational opportunities for its members, including Technical Delegate training to Race Administration certification. “We had over 130 members from across the country on a Zoom training last week,” Caitlin notes. “We’re proud to offer high-quality trainings and certifications across multiple platforms.”

The organization also facilitates on-hill opportunities for members to earn credentials. “We offer certified coach development and prep programs where instructors can work toward their Level 100, 200, or 300 certifications,” says Caitlin. She is personally working toward her Level 300 certification and hopes to complete it in the 2026 or 2027 season.

Caitlin is excited to share her passion for skiing with communities across the state. “I’m thrilled to be working with NYSSRA and sharing this amazing sport with others. We live in an incredible place to enjoy snow sports. New York has so many wonderful slopes to discover, many of them right in our own backyard!”
