The Flower Stand, Springville
The Flower Stand, Springville

Spread the love

By Barbara Arnstein

The Flower Stand at 13187 Vaughn Street in Springville, a place where you can pick your own flowers or order them, has four acres of gardens. The popular spot has provided flowers for countless special events, and thousands of blooms are available there throughout the summer and autumn.

“This season got off to a late start with an unusually wet, cold May followed by a hot, dry July, but we’re back in full swing now”, said the owner, Ellen Krzemien, who completed the Master Gardener Program at Cornell Co-operative. “The flowers are thriving, we’re heading into the height of dahlia season, and we’ll have blooms right up until the first hard frost in October. We offer DIY flower buckets for showers, weddings and flower bars, an affordable way to add seasonal beauty to your events”.”

Seasonal flower selections include sunflowers, snapdragons, gladiolas, marigolds, zinnias, sweet peas, celosia, verbena, ornamental grasses and much more. Some flowers have color variations. There have been many romantic proposals there, and so far this month two couples, Matt and Angela, and George and Chris pledged their love to one another.

“We’re offering by-appointment visits Tuesdays through Sundays, and local deliveries within six miles of the farm. It’s a beautiful time to come out, pick your own flowers, and soak in the late-summer magic.”, said Ellen. “Appointments can be booked through our website at flowerstand716.com. We host photo shoots too, and there’s a separate booking calendar for that, under the photography tab on our website. The Flower Stand is a gorgeous backdrop for capturing fall memories”.

“If a date isn’t clickable, it means we’re either fully booked or closed for a private event. We keep close tabs on the number of folks visiting and want every visit to feel personal, which is part of the reason we don’t accept walk-ins”, she continued. “We’ve got a couple of events in the works that we’re really excited about. Details will be posted on our social media accounts in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out.” For more information, go to facebook.com/theflowerstand716, instagram.com/theflowerstand716, email theflowerstand716@gmail.com  or call (716) 913-0626.
