Have you heard about the new Gypsy Moon pop-up shop in Bemus Point? It’s run by Diana Fodero and features a fantastic selection of unique items that are just perfect for finding something for yourself or for a special gift for someone else. Some of you might remember the original Gypsy Moon, a charming ladies’ consignment store that thrived on Lakeside Drive for several years. Diana has a special connection to that store, having worked there for many years and being a partner and friend of the original owner. It’s great to see her bringing her vibe of Gypsy Moon back to the community.
A few years after the original Gypsy Moon closed, Diana found herself collecting vintage clothing, and she spent around three years showcasing her finds at a flea market in Westfield. A few months ago, she was excited when the owner of the Ugly Peacock in Bemus Point reached out and offered her the chance to use garage space to sell her collection. Diana happily jumped at the opportunity to open her own shop. About mid-July of this year, she officially launched the charming new Gypsy Moon pop-up shop.
The new Gypsy Moon is located behind The Ugly Peacock on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point. Unlike the original store, it is not a consignment shop but primarily specializes in vintage clothing, defined as items that are over twenty years old. This shop features a fantastic collection of uniquely stylish vintage dresses and other apparel as well as accessories, hats, shoes, and purses. Additionally, the walls are decorated with artwork available for purchase, perfect for enhancing your home décor. A beautiful display of jewelry is sure to catch your eye as well. Many of the treasures here come from Diana’s vintage collection, but there are also plenty of unique, new, and modern items to explore. Gypsy Moon is truly a special place to discover one-of-a-kind finds that you won’t see anywhere else.
Diana’s collection of special items is gathered from all over the world. Most of her treasures are found by her daughter, who lives in Seattle. Diana’s daughter travels frequently and often sends her finds from Seattle, Los Angeles, and other locations, both domestically and internationally. She has a keen understanding of the distinctive styles that match what Diana seeks for her shop. The collection features a mix of rare items and beautiful imports, along with some treasures discovered right here in the U.S. from high-end estate sales and charming local markets.

The shop attracts a blend of visitors to the area as well as locals, many of whom are returning customers who remember the original Gypsy Moon location. Customers appreciate the uniqueness of the pop-up shop in the garage, and Diana has received numerous compliments about the shop and the unique items her store has to offer. When Diana was asked to describe her shop, she said, “Describing this shop is a challenge as it features a wide range of interesting, some may say, “weird” items. Some are Bohemian, vintage, and traditional, as well as new. I prefer the description of the shop as an “eclectic mix of fun stuff.”
