Lakewood Community Development Corporation (LCDC) is excited to announce Rock the Lake, a free summer concert series at Hartley Park in Lakewood, NY. The series kicks off on July 6 from 2-5pm with 4 concerts on consecutive Sundays through August 24. Guests are invited to enjoy a casual, family-friendly afternoon, from their boat or on the shore, with plenty of room to relax, dance, and enjoy summer on the lake. Food trucks will be available on site.

Michelle Turner, event coordinator representing LCDC, is excited to see this inaugural event come to fruition. “It’s been a long road of planning,” says Michelle. “We are looking forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike to enjoy music on Lake Chautauqua. Our goal is to bring the community together in celebration of summer, and attract new visitors to the wonderful Lakewood community. We have many wonderful boutiques, shops and restaurants here, and invite everyone to stroll our streets and discover our local businesses.”

The concerts will take place in Hartley Park, a beautiful lakeside green space with two tiers and plenty of room for guests to spread out. The stage will be placed on the lower portion of the park, on the beach near the water, so boaters will be able to view the concert as well. “This park is the perfect venue for these concerts,” says Michelle. “The stage will be viewable on all four sides, so everyone on land, or on boat, will have a great view. We have public dock space, and invite boaters to come out and enjoy the concerts.”

The Park provides a family-friendly atmosphere for guests of all ages. Food trucks will be on site for local flavor, including Mystic Smoke BBQ, Bucket Brigade Pizza Company (July 6), Tita’s Dogs (July 27, Aug 10 & 24), and Chachy’s Lemonades (July 27, Aug 10 & 24th). Each concert will be held from 2 -5pm, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxed afternoon by the lake. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and their best summer vibes.

The series kicks off on July 6th with a Country Show featuring national recording artist Tyler Rich, Sean Patrick McGraw & the James’s, also featuring The Dryes from Nashville. “This show will be absolutely incredible; a great kickoff event,” says Michelle. “All of these acts are from Nashville, and they’re the real deal, with several well-known songs. They’re each reputable in their own regards, but together it’s going to be an unforgettable afternoon of country music.”

Michelle and the LCDC team are thankful for the community support and the sponsors for the event. “We are so incredibly grateful to our sponsors. Without them this event wouldn’t be possible.
