celebrates Native American artistry, creativity, and cultural resilience.
Following the resounding success of its inaugural launch in 2024, the Ohi:yo’ Art Market returns bigger and more dynamic than ever. Held in partnership with the Visitor Economy Management Office, this year’s market showcases an exciting range of Native artists representing nations across the United States and Canada. Expect to encounter an awe-inspiring selection of fine arts, beadwork, pottery, photography, jewelry, sculpture, basketry, weaving, quillwork, and more.
The heart of the Ohi:yo’ Art Market is a juried art competition that precedes the event, where

selected works by top Native artists will be on display and available for purchase. This is more
than just an art market—it’s an immersive cultural celebration designed to foster appreciation for
Indigenous traditions while embracing modern innovation in the arts.
A highlight of this year’s event is the Dwahšönih family makerspace, returning for its second
year. This interactive learning space invites attendees of all ages to connect directly with cultural
arts practitioners. Through hands-on activities, visitors will gain deeper insight into traditional
Native practices. Highlights include: • Basket Weaving with Tonia Galban and Holly John, featuring a sunflower weaving project • Cornhusk Braiding with Bernadette Scott and Mason Jones • Cordage Making with Marissa Manitowabi, who will introduce visitors to traditional fibers • Cultural Cooking with Andrea Spako, serving up delicious foods featuring beans and onëö’gë:n (Seneca/Haudenosaunee white corn, pronounced “oh-nay-oh gan”) • Clay Work with potter Cami Jones, especially geared towards kids • Hide Preparation with Jodi Maracle• Language & Plant Activities in the infant space hosted by Courtlyn Jones and Cheryl Graham • Visual Arts experiences with Lauren Jimerson and Ionawiienhawi Sargent.
Because the Dwahšönih space is constantly evolving based on the people and energy present, no two years are ever the same—making it a truly unique and spontaneous experience each time.
Another can’t-miss feature of this year’s market is a special film screening of “Seeds,” written by and starring the immensely talented Kaniehtiio Horn, known for her standout roles as Deer Lady in Reservation Dogs and appearances in Letterkenny. “Seeds” follows Ziggy (played by Horn), who lands her first influencer gig with a seed and fertilizer company, only to be called back to her rez where she discovers a deeper purpose and begins a powerful journey to protect her community’s legacy.
Horn will be present at the screening to share her insights and creative journey. This free
screening is expected to draw a large crowd, and seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your
spot in advance by registering through this form. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Throughout the day, attendees will also enjoy traditional Native social song and dance, as well as delicious Indigenous foods, making this a full sensory celebration of heritage, art, and community. Whether you are a seasoned collector of Native art or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend your day, the Ohi:yo’ Art Market offers something for everyone.
The event is free and open to the public, making it an accessible and enriching experience for
families, students, artists, and cultural enthusiasts alike. Join in celebrating the power of Native
voices, traditions, and creativity at the 2025 Ohi:yo’ Art Market—a day of connection, education, and inspiration.
