Who wants the summer to end? No one really, but sadly all good things do. That doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the end of summer in a big way as we lead into fall. Take a trip out to the Woodside Tavern on the Range, in Olean NY, (located at 3319 West River Road) this Saturday, August 27th from 12-11pm for the 2022 Woodside Music Festival!! This is a fabulous local celebration offering food, music and more to the community. The Villager spoke to one of the coordinators of the event, Molly King about what this year’s festival has to offer.
The Villager (V): Woodside Music Festival is back for 2022; what’s new this year?
Molly (M): “This year we not only have an awesome musical lineup but new additions include local food truck vendors, 50/50 raffle, and VIP table options (SOLD OUT).”
V: The festival always benefits a great cause, who is it supporting this year?
M: “100% of the admission proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY under the Longest Day and Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraisers”.
V: There is a long lineup of performers, could you let us know who will play, what type of music they perform and when they we will be on stage?
M: “The event will kick off with a few brief speakers including Mayor William Aiello, and Lauren Ashburn, Associate Director of Advocacy for NYS from the Alzheimer’s Association. For the music there will be a little something for everyone as they cover a wide variety of genres. Dan Roche is an acoustic act, he will take stage from 12:45-1:30pm, followed by another acoustic, Jamie Ervay from 1:40-2:25pm, then Dylan Snyder takes stage from 2:35-3:20pm; next up is Swords of a Joker from 4-5:15pm, Smokin’ 45 from 5:30-6:45pm, Diggin Roots from 7-8:15pm and closing will be Vinny and Mudflaps beginning at 8:30pm.
V: There are food options, what type of delicious items can be found?
M: There will be several food trucks onsite. Big Bossman’s BBQ and Catering will be selling many of his signature items and fixings as well as a new surprise fixing just for this event. Hungry Burro will be there selling their burritos, tacos, nachos and bowls. House of Munch will be selling their festival staples such as fries, hot dogs, and fried dough. Lastly, Kona Ice will be there with their shaved ice in a wide variety of flavors. Adult beverages will be for sale as the Woodside Tavern will be running their bar for the event. Flickerwood Wine Cellars will be joining them with their portable wine bar.”
V: What is the cost of admission to the festival and where can tickets be purchased?
M: Admission will be $10 upon entry. Cash is preferred but credit card payment options are available. Seating is very limited so please bring a lawn chair.”
V: Anything else you would like to add?
M: “We are so grateful to the Woodside Tavern on the Range for their generosity in letting us take over the annual music festival. I had been wanting to find a way to expand support for the Alzheimer’s Association in our community, and it never would have been possible on this level without them.
We have received a lot of additional community support on this event spanning from local musicians, restaurants, and businesses, to several individuals giving their time and services for the event. It’s because of all of this we are projected to exceed our fundraising goals. Funds donated to the Alzheimer’s Association cover the costs of free programs they offer like educational and support groups, as well as efforts in advocacy and research trying to advance care.”
Thank you, Molly, for taking the time to speak with us and share your knowledge on this great festival. A huge thank you to the Woodside Tavern on the Range staff for hosting a great community event. More information on the 2022 Woodside Music Festival can be found on Facebook.
