The event is the culmination of a four-part audio documentary “10,000 Maniacs: Can’t Ignore the Train”, which has aired Fridays on WRFA-LP 107.9 F.M. since July 26. The documentary began by illustrating the music “scene” in 1978 Jamestown and through interviews with the band’s peers and early collaborators it details the subsequent six years. In this episodic telling of the band’s journey through different sounds, identities and lineups, documentarian Aaron Perez captured the enduring themes of youth, friendship, and creativity culminating in the band’s first major label record release with The Wishing Chair. The final episode will air August 16 before the live event. All episodes will be available to stream at WRFALP.com.  The documentary was made possible by support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

“10,000 Maniacs Can’t Ignore the Train: Conversation and Reflections with the Founding Members” tickets are $29.50 and available at: reglenna.com or by calling 716.484.7070.

Reg Lenna Center for The Arts is located at 116 E. 3rd St. in Jamestown, NY. Ticket holders may enter the building through the awning entrance and take the elevator to 3R for the event.
